Forensic Science is a 4-year undergraduate degree program that combines knowledge from various scientific fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science to investigate and solve crimes. Honours undergraduate programs typically differentiate from regular undergraduate programs by offering more specialized coursework, higher academic standards, rigorous research opportunities, smaller class sizes, and enhanced career preparation, providing a deeper and more focused academic experience for students. The program focuses on the application of scientific methods and techniques to collect, preserve, and analyse physical evidence from crime scenes. The program includes subjects such as forensic toxicology, forensic biology, forensic chemistry, forensic anthropology, forensic psychology, and criminalistics. Students also learn about the legal aspects of forensic science and the use of technology in forensic investigations.
A person, who have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with (PCM/PCB) with 70% Marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
