72 MonthsPh.D programme consists of coursework, qualifying/comprehensive examination, seminars, and a thesis. PhD students from all disciplines will have to register for a minimum of 24-course credits (16-course credits for lateral entry PhD students)
Besides the mandatory requirements, students are encouraged to participate in several professional activities such as workshops, review meetings and conferences. All doctoral students are also expected to participate in the undergraduate teaching programme of the Institute as a part of their training. The curriculum and other criteria for successfully completing the PhD programme in various disciplines are documented in the Postgraduate (PG) Manual.
Eligibility Criteria
Prospective candidates are required to hold a postgraduate degree (M.S./M.Sc./M.Tech./MBBS) in a discipline relevant to their chosen Ph.D. program.
Admission Details
- Candidates might need to qualify a national entrance examination for getting admissions to IISER Berhampur.
- A valid National level examination, such as National Eligibility Test (NET), GATE, UGC-JRF, CSIR-JRF, DBT (JRF A category), ICMR (JRF category I), NET-LS, INSPIRE-Ph.D., Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship, JGEEBILS, or any other recognized score, is mandatory.
