72 MonthsThe Institute offers Ph.D programmes in Biological Sciences can three to five-year duration full-time course. Department of Biological Sciences offers research in the areas of Biochemistry, Biophysics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, Epigenetics, Plant Cell and Developmental Biology, Metagenomics, Systems Biology, Ecology, Evolution and Molecular Systematics.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students admitted to the Ph.D. programme must have M.Sc./M.Tech. Degree with a minimum of 60% marks or Cumulative Grade Point Average/Cumulative Performance Index (CGPA/CPI) 7.0 in a 10 point scale. Under special circumstances, exceptionally bright students with B.Tech./B.E/B.S. (4 years) degree are also considered for admission.
- Students should have also qualified a national level entrance test such as GATE/NET/DBT/JEST/ICMAR (or any other national level examination) and will be selected through an interview process.
