Academics
I am currently pursuing a BS-MS program at IISER Bhopal with a focus on physics. The academic environment is rigorous and concept-driven rather than exam-oriented. Most professors have strong research backgrounds, and some courses are taught well with emphasis on fundamentals, though the teaching quality can vary across instructors. The curriculum is fairly flexible in later years, allowing exploration through electives and research projects. However, certain courses feel outdated or not well-structured, and self-study is often necessary. Overall, the academics are strong if you are self-motivated, but not very hand-holding.
College Infra
The infrastructure at IISER Bhopal is generally good, with well-equipped laboratories, classrooms, and a functional library. WiFi is available across most academic areas and hostels, though connectivity can sometimes be inconsistent. The campus is still developing, so some facilities feel incomplete or underutilized. Hostels are adequate but not exceptional, and maintenance can be inconsistent in certain areas. Sports facilities and common spaces are present but could be better managed. Overall, the infrastructure supports academic work well but still has room for improvement in maintenance and accessibility.
Campus Life

Academics
Teachers are very cooperative and their arr regular doubt clearing sessions held.There are PCB students who first hesitated and were reluctant to study maths in the first semester but our maths teacher handle the class so gracefully that bio students do not face any problem. Teachers are available 24x7 in there office ready to solve any kind of silly doubt. There are four exams in semester:end sem,mid sem,2 quizes. The marking scheme varies from instructor to instructor. Grading can be absolute or relative depending upon the teacher.
College Infra
My college expands over 250 acres with lush greenery.It has four Academy buildings dedicated to All the departments.All the AB buildings have latest technology and equipments for the research.My college has 8 hostels:5 for boys,3 for girls.We have a cricket ground,volleyball court,basketball court,kho kho ground,Kabaddi Ground and also badminton courts.we have a gym with all kinds of equipment. We have also a three storied library with ground floor for text books first floor for reference text books and magazines and second floor for research papers MS thesis and computer lab.
Campus Life
We have 200 security guards around the campus in every nook and corner guarding 24 x 7.We have annual Science Festival called singularity,Annual cultural festival called enthuzia and other community members celebrate their native festival like Onam of Kerala,Ganesh puja of Maharashtra,Pana Sankranti of Odisha etc.We have four clubs under cultural Council,8 games under sports club.
Placements
Mostly natural Sciences student opt for PhD in abroad and Engineering and economic students apply for placement.Only 15 out of 180 students get the job while ohers prepare for other competitive exams like MBA CAT,IIT JAM,Gate or UPSC.The average packages is 18 lakhs per annum.
Value For Money
The semester fee is 53100 including tuition fees hostel fees and other maintenance we have numerous workshops events through at the semester on the engineers day X dear dear director Dr Pratap Singh Reddy,CV Raghuvanshi and other two eminent personalities came to give talk.So all the money is worth it.

Academics
Most of the professors hold a foreign PhD in the institute and are among top 1% scientists of the country. The curriculum always remain updated according to the recent developments in the respective field. The engineering and economics department makes students job ready too.
College Infra
The college infrastructure is too modern . As it has been 15 only years the permanent campus of the institute got established. The condition of labs and classrooms in lecture hall complex is just superb.
Campus Life
Campus gardens and grounds are well maintained .There is also a hill side area mostly used for hanging out purposes . There are mostly 2 big fests one is the tech-fest ARMAGEDDON and College fest ENTHUZIA. 2 authentic Restaurants are also there inside the college along with a shopping center.
Placements
The highest package last year was 31 LPA from EECS department . The average salary was 19 LPA ; a bit high because lesser number of students apply for placements through campus and most of them apply for higher studies in foreign .The recruiter were Dr. Reddy's Labs , Barclays and Nomura bank
Value For Money
The course fees is not that affordable for middleclass students . earlier all iiser students used to get scholarships by DST but now it is discontinued so giving 5 stars for Return of investment is not justified .The course fee for non-sc/st students is 1.30 LPA and 50000 for sc/st students.

Placements at IISER Bhopal is very good. Mainly candidates after BS-MS degree go for higher studies in the world abroad universities like MIT Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford and Princeton etc. Some of the students take admission in Top IITS for PhD and many students placed in job sectors.
