72 MonthsThe Institute offers Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students admitted to the Ph.D. programme must have M.Sc./M.Tech. Degree with a minimum of 60% marks or Cumulative Grade Point Average/Cumulative Performance Index (CGPA/CPI) 7.0 in a 10 point scale. Under special circumstances, exceptionally bright students with B.Tech./B.E/B.S. (4 years) degree are also considered for admission.
- Students should have also qualified a national level entrance test such as GATE/NET/DBT/JEST/ICMAR (or any other national level examination) and will be selected through an interview process.
