Hello Aspirant,

Well, the cut-off  marks  in 10+2 as eligibility for  IISER  Admissions 2020 is modified as follows: either 60%  marks  in aggregate or equivalent grade for General/ OBC and OBC-NCL categories and 55% for SC/ST/PWD in any boards or the cut-off  marks  already announced for each of the boards in the admission website, so do check that for more clear picture.

This may help.

Happy learning!

Hi,

Well the chances are really low but still there is no harm in applying. You cannot know when what would happen. So I would recommend you to apply for counseling and wait even if the chances of admission is low and you can know better later.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.

Yes , you can be selected . It all depends on your rank if you get a good rank , then you will surely be selected . You are eligible for the test as you need to get above the cut off which is calculated on the basis of PCM , a language and any optional course . If you have marks above the cut off , then you are eligible for the test.  Now you need to get a very high score . Moreover, since you don't know Biology , you can't do anything about it . So you should face it with all your might .

Hi Venkateswaran,

I understand that you are not able to upload your class XII mark sheet for filling into the IISER application form and so to answer your question, firstly I ask you to check if this issue is due to some technical discrepancy by trying to upload the document repeatedly for 2-3 days and still if it persists then I suggest that you address this matter in writing through post to the respective authorities stating the entire matter in detail along with your proper credentials and data and request them to  rectify the discrepancy so that you can upload the document and also request them to expedite the entire process.

Yesss..you have to prepare for all the subjects as there is equal weightage for all the subjects..

Hello

IISER Admissions are conducted through three channels - KVPY, JEE, and SCB. Candidates opting for SCB channel will have to clear an aptitude test.

Eligibility criteria is as follows-

Students seeking admission under SCB channel must meet the minimum cutoff percentage prescribed by IISER for their respective state boards.

Check the detailed information about IISER Aptitude test using the link below-

Good luck!

Hi Aritra,

Please understand the fact that the cutoff for admission into IISER varies year to year and is governed by several factors such as:

  • The number of students appeared.
  • The difficulty of the question paper.
  • Marks scored by students.
  • The number of seats available.

and thus the cutoff marks can vary year to year so prepare well.

BEST WISHES!

Hello dear student,

Greetings! !

I will not suggest you iiser if you are going there for placemebt purpose ,the sole purpose of this particular course is to ignite interest for science among students so that they pursue higher education, i.e. opt for PhD, hence, not much emphasis is given on job placement etc. However, in past out of all the students who wished to join a job, a few were able to grab jobs in the R&D sector.

Thankyou
