IIT Mandi offers admission to B. Tech, M. Tech, Ph. D and M. Sc courses. Students have to meet the cutoff marks to apply for admission at the IIT Mandi. Therefore we will discuss the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi cut-off for each of the courses separately. Check the below article to know more about the IIT Mandi cutoff and eligibility criteria.
The eligibility criteria for B. Tech is to have a minimum of 60% in 10th and 12th from a recognized board. The mainstream must be Science with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. The B. Tech admissions in IIT Mandi are solely based on the national level JEE (Joint Entrance Exam). The exam is of two levels, mainly JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Students have to qualify JEE Main to appear for the second exam, i.e. JEE Advanced. Candidates must have qualified scores in both these exams. The process is later followed by JoSAA counselling.

The cut-off is affected by several factors every year. The total numbers of candidates, total number of seats for a subject, the difficulty level of exam and candidate category observed every year are the factors that affect the cut-off.
Total candidate per year: Even though the number of students who qualify in Advanced is comparatively less from the ones appearing if more candidates qualify to result in an increase in competition increases and therefore the cut-off also increases.
Total seats available: The number of seats available determines the cut-off easily. Higher the number of seats less will be the cut-off.
The difficulty level of JEE: The difficulty is set to moderate than high then the cut off goes down by the third round of admission.
Candidate Category and Program: The category and choice of the program of candidates also affect the cut-off. The more candidates there are for a particular category or program, the higher the cut-off will be set.
When you consider these factors and analyze the following scores of JEE Advanced based on them, you will definitely understand how these factors fluctuate the cut-off.

As we can see, the cut-off varies gradually throughout the years. The cut-off for every subject varies just as it does for the categories.
We can see computer science had more candidates last year than this year. This year candidates opted more for Data Science and Electrical Engineering streams. A considerable amount of students chose Electrical physics and Bio Engineering. However, Mechanical and Civil Engineering show the same trends in both years.
Students who hold a Bachelor’s degree with an average 7/10 GPA without any pending backlogs are eligible for admission. The admissions for M. Tech in IIT Mandi are based on the GATE scores.
There are many factors that contribute to the setting of the cut-offs every year. The number seats per college, number application for a program, category are some of the factors.
Number of applications: This factor can easily tell you the level of cut-off for a year. The more applicants there are for the year, the more the cut-off goes up.
Level of exam: The difficulty level of GATE of a particular year can also determine the cut-off trends. The more difficult the exam is, the more the cut-off drops by the third round.
Available seats: The total number of seats available also affects the cut-off of the year. If available seats are more, then the cut-off gradually drops.
Programme and Category: The choice of program and category of candidates also affect the cut-off. This is due to the varied cut-off set for different programs and categories of the candidate.
You can analyse the cut-off of the previous two years shown below considering these factors and drawing a conclusion.

The GATE 2020 was set at a moderate level of difficulty. Hence we see a rise in the cut-off compared to last year. Last year witnessed a higher amount of admissions in all the specializations. VLSI being at the top.
The cut-off for Mechanical engineering is constant in both years. But it is different for other specializations. C&SP and PED witnessed a considerable amount of students this year. However, the number of students for VSLI remains the highest.
Students who hold a Bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 65-70% are eligible to apply for an M. Sc. Course in IIT Mandi. The M. Sc admissions in IIT Mandi are based on the JAM (Joint Admission Test) scores. It is followed by an interview round of the students, which allows the interviewer to determine the candidates’ goals for choosing a particular specialization.
The JAM cut-off has many factors under consideration before being sent. These factors are observed on a yearly basis.
Total number of candidates: For a year, if the total number of candidates is more, then the cut-off automatically goes up. This is due to the competition that is built with such a large number of candidates.
Difficulty level of JAM: JAM level of difficulty can be easy, moderate or high. The less the difficulty level, the more is the cut-off.
Number of seats available: Just like the difficulty factor, if the number of seats is less, the higher cut-off will be set for real deserving candidates of those seats.
Candidate category: This factor also plays an important role in the cut-off. The cut-off is highest for the general or open category while it is low for categories like SC, ST, and OBC.
The following tables represent the cut-off of two recent years with JAM scores for M. Sc. Courses at IIT Mandi.

Since the JAM candidates witnessed a higher difficulty level in 2020, we see a great fluctuation in the cut-offs of this year. The cut-off dropped dramatically for highly opted M. Sc. stream like Chemistry. Mathematics falls in second place of students’ preference at IIT Mandi followed by Physics. The overall closing ranks for admission through have increased this year. The detailed JAM cut-off trends of the year 2020 and 2019 can be seen in the tables provided above.
College is tremendous and everything is very fine but favoritism and nepotism is at the top which is impeding its quality however if things are improvised then it will definitely implicate to its further growth
I haven't really been to campus to comment on it's infrastructure, but from what I have heard it has almost all facilities a students need labs, gym, ground and sports facilities etc...................
Best college and best in location. Awesome view and study being close to the nature. If you love to be the space close to science and nature this is the place for you must come and see it once........
Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi has an active VLSI programme for the students targeting admission in 2022. The candidates are selected through an all India entrance examination (GATE) followed by a written test and an interview.
Candidates with their branches in engineering such as BE or B. Tech in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics & Communications (ECE), Instrumentation (INI), Associate membership of professional bodies equivalent to B.Tech. (EEE/EE/ECE/IN) and M.Sc. in Electronics Science will be considered eligible for this course. (This is from the official notification from IIT Mandi VLSI MTech).
Hope I have answered my question. All the best!
IIT MANDI is a Government Institute of National Importance. It is UGC approved institute and comes under the category of new IIT's.
The institute don't offers the course of BTech in Software Engineering, but if you wish to be a software engineer after studying from IIT MANDI, then you need to do the course of B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering . Most of the software engineers in India are from the CSE branch and this is the course which is studied for being a software engineer.
The admission to the course of BTech CSE is provided on the basis of JEE Advanced .

I hope this helps. Goodnight!
according to this years cutoffs of  iit mandi data science obc is around 1703 obc rank so you should move accordingly but at this point you should be careful that you should consider past years cutoffs for reference purposes only as the same cutoff trends may not repeat in future
