B.Sc Biomedical Sciences Hons at IAR Gandhinagar Offline Course

B.Sc. (Hons.) Biomedical Sciences in the Institute of Advanced Research is a three-year (6 semester) graduate-level interdisciplinary course that provides students a fundamental understanding of the field and also enables them to apply the concepts in various advanced areas of biomedical sciences. In the first year of this course, a variety of core subjects enable students to have a glimpse of the introductory topics such as fundamentals of chemistry relevant to biology and medicine, microbiology, human anatomy and physiology, and fundamentals of biological data analysis. In the second year, the students would learn more advanced subjects relevant to the field of biomedical sciences such as genomics and proteomics, recombinant DNA technology, bioinformatics, etc. In addition, the students will get hands-on experiences with a variety of applied courses such as computer-aided drug design, microbial diagnosis in health clinics, pathological basis of diseases, etc under the skill enhancement courses. 

The third year will have subjects that are highly specialized including courses like tools and model organisms in biomedical research, pharmacology, toxicology, human genetics, etc as part of the discipline-specific electives. The last semester of this course will be dedicated to research projects with internship opportunities in the industry and academia.
