Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology or KIIT Bhubaneswar was established in 1992 by Achyuta Samanta with small finances and a vision to create a university for the benefit of society.  In 2004, KIIT was declared Deemed University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
