The Manipur University, Imphal was established in 1980 and it offers 43 full-time courses and 7 online certification programmes. The University provides a total of 40 degree courses and 3 Diploma programmes. Manipur University, Imphal Admissions

The University provides admissions to the diploma and PG programmes based on the performance in MUET. Separate applications will be provided for CUET(UG)-qualified candidates who do not appear for the Manipur University Entrance Test (MUET). Manipur University, Imphal Scholarship

The University has policies in place for providing Non-NET/NET Fellowships to all students who have been admitted to Ph.D programmes that are overseen by Manipur University faculty. According to university regulations, NET/Non-NET Ph.D scholars are only eligible for scholarships for a four-year period. Furthermore, the UGC, CSIR, National (OBC, SC, ST), and Inspire Fellowships examination winners also receive fellowships directly from the concerned ministry. Every PG course offered by the university departments offers one student a Meritorious scholarship as well. For the first year of PG programmes, the scholarship is awarded based on the highest score obtained during the admission test, and for the second year, it is awarded based on the score obtained in the first-year exams. Additionally, the university offers scholarships to ST students pursuing an MA in Manipuri.

Every year, the university placement is carried out. The institution offers a variety of pre-placement training programmes to get students prepared for placement. Out of 133 qualified candidates, 20 have been placed in various firms and 100 students are selected for higher education, according to Manipur University placement data for the three-year UG programme for the year 2021-2022.
