NIT Sikkim is an autonomous Institute of National Importance, was established in 2010 by an act of parliament. NIT Sikkim is also one among the National Institutes that are recognised as premier institutes in India. Currently the NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG and doctoral programmes in the fields Science and Technology. The NIT Sikkim offers B.Tech and M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Civil Engineering, and M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admissions for B.Tech courses conducted through the JoSAA/CSAB counselling on the basis of JEE Mains. For NIT Sikkim M.Tech admission, GATE score is mandatory, and JAM exam is mandatory for M.Sc admissions. Ph.D admissions followed by a written test conducted by NIT Sikkim.

The NIT Sikkim offers B.Tech, M.Tech, Ms.C and Phd programmes at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels; in total the NIT Sikkim provides 19 courses in B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., and Ph.D. programmes. NIT admissions are done through various modes and entrance examinations conducted at All India level by NTA. The B.Tech or other UG candidates need to appear in the JoSAA/CSAB counselling, based on the rank in JEE Main entrance examination. Admission to M.Tech programmes given based on the merit in GATE examination, personal interview, Non Gate candidate must appear for Institute Admission Test ( IAT). For admission to Ph.D., in the streams of Engineering, Science, Humanities is conducted through the written entrance test and personal interview at the NIT Sikkim.

As NIT SIKKIM is a newly established collage , so there are not so much facilities available here but all the facility are available which are necessary. Living space bis also clean and hygienic. There are also a facility for wifi and library .
As N. I. T Sikkim is a new established collage, so there are not all the equipment available. but maximum equipments are available. The infrastructure of N. I. T sikkim is Good and living spaces are also clean. There are almost all the facilities available in the classroom.
nit sikkim is based in temprorary campus some of basic facilities we have due to lack of land but nit sikkim provides the facilities of library as well sports ground classroom and other facilities like hospitals also so overall the infrastructure is really good but due to some lack of land 1st year student have to live out side the campus but overall its good.
