National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NIT UK or NIT Uttarakhand) was founded in 2009 under the Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Education. NIT Uttarakhand is an Institute of National Importance. NITUK is the Technical Education Hub in the Green and Clean Lap of the Himalayas, precisely located in the state of Uttarakhand. NIT Uttarakhand Campus Life
National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand started functioning in two buildings and a hostel on the premises of Government Polytechnic, Srinagar, Garhwal. At present, it has a residential campus with all the basic facilities for the students in temporarily fabricated buildings on the premises of the Government Polytechnic. NIT Uttarakhand is equipped with 35 labs, 16 classrooms, 1 library, and 11 hostels with an accommodating capacity of 1000 students. NIT Uttarakhand facilities also include ATM, Power Back-Up, Gymnasium, Laundry, Canteen Security, Wi-Fi connectivity and others.
Since its inception, the Institute has expanded its temporary campus by constructing new buildings for the polytechnic campus. Later on, administrative blocks, engineering departments, along with laboratories, playground, cafeteria and open-air theatre have been constructed at the ITI Campus.
