The professors are generally young, energetic, and highly qualified (mostly holding PhDs from premier institutes). Because the batch sizes are relatively small compared to older NITs, you get a much better student-to-teacher ratio. This makes faculty members highly accessible for mentorship, research projects, and guidance.

Infrastructure has historically been a talking point for NIT Uttarakhand. For years, it operated out of a temporary campus sharing space with a local polytechnic. Today, the college has progressively shifted toward establishing its permanent identity, expanding facilities at its temporary site while steadily driving construction at its larger permanent site in Sumari.
