12 MonthsThe University offers a One Year LL.M. (Master of Laws) Degree Programme. Students admitted to the One Year LL.M. Degree Programme at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam has to complete three mandatory papers and six elective papers and a dissertation in order to complete the program. The student who opts for minimum four out of six electives in a particular specialization will secure an LL.M. in that specialization whereas the student, who do not make such an option and/or opt for papers from diverse specializations or from the general pool, will be awarded LL.M. (General).
The following specializations are to be offered at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam:
The University reserves the right to offer specializations subject to the contingencies of faculty members available in a given academic year. The University may expand the number of specializations if so merited by faculty expertise. Students admitted to One Year LL.M Degree Programme have to complete three mandatory papers, six elective papers and a dissertation in order to complete the programme. Students who opt for a minimum of four out of six elective papers in a particular specialization group are awarded LL.M. Degree in that area of specialization, whereas students who do not make such an option and/or opt for papers from diverse areas or from the general pool of courses are awarded LL.M. (General) Degree.

To qualify for the admission, the candidate must have passed LL.B. Three Year / Five Year Integrated Degree Examination from any University whose degree is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities)
Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination through supplementary/compartment and repeat attempts are alsoeligible to appear in CLAT and taking admission provided that such candidates produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks on the day of admission/counselling or within the time allowed by National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam
