While giving review in terms of infrastructure of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology our college has good conditioned classrooms with capacity of 90 to 100 students siting capacity . we have ground in our college where various events are held . There are 3 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for girls with a mess which provides good quality of food at affordable prices .
While when come to the academics part our college has teachers who are experience for more than 5 years in their teaching fields . teachers mainly use technical ways to teach the students . there are doubt classes for students to clear out their doubts .
There are two placement cells in our college who are responsible to suggest different companies to come to our college for recruitment and placements . previous year companies like dell , Syngenta , Agrium , etc came to hire the final year students and while some of these companies even provided the internship opportunities to students . Many of students even got placed in these companies .
The free seats costs 18000 INR per sem while the cost sharing seats costs 30000 INR extra .
The students engage in various extra curricular activities like music , dance , stage drama, literature , sports , art , etc .
Our college is located in bhubaneswar . OUAT , has various agriculture related colleges in different cities in Odisha .
The university has a really good infrastructure. The classrooms are equipped with smart class and well maintained seminar halls with latest equipments and spacious for large accomodations. The library has a varied collection of books, journals, magazines with access to ICAR e-book facilities. The laboratories have the latest equipments and instruments with skilled lab assistants department wise. The sports centres have well maintained ground n courts. Hostels have free wifi and good sanitation.
I am currently pursuing my graduation in BSc. Horticulture. The quality of teaching is well in accordance with the ICAR curriculum. The teaching facility and quality of teaching is at par with the top agricultural colleges in India. The recent agricultural schemes and developments are well taught. The graduation degree in this field has varied scopes for jobs and the students fair well in getting well paid jobs as soon as they graduate.
The placements that we receive are basically from Seed companies, Fertilizer companies and NGOs etc. The last year saw a placement of around 40% students who were interested for these companies while others opted for agriculture related jobs in banks and applied for competitive examinations. The average salary offered from these companies was 1.75 lakhs p.a in the initial stages of training. This salary is subject to increment with promotion and experience.
The free seats cost 18000 INR per semester while the cost sharing seats cost 50000 INR extra. The cost sharing amount is paid every odd semester. I don't think that we are getting our money's worth because with such a huge number of students paying such an amount as fees should see a drastic development in infrastructure than we have now.
The college campus is very much safe for girls. The students engage in various extra curricular activities like music, literature, dance, sports as well as art. The college is situated 20 mins from the nearest hospital. The transport facilities include city buses and private auto rickshaws. Students can have their own modes of transportation as well.
The University is located at Bhubaneswar. OUAT has various agriculture related colleges in different cities in Odisha. There are 3 Agriculture colleges, 1 Horticulture college, 1 College of Fisheries, 1 College of Agricultural Engineering, 1 College of Forestry, 1 College of Community Science and a College of Basic Science and Humanities. The data I provided was an overall for the University at Bhubaneswar which has most of the colleges in it's campus.
With 83 percent in 10th, 68.8 percent in 12th PCB and 118 marks in OUAT, you have a fair chance of getting shortlisted in the counselling process. Selection also depends on your category, cutoff trends and seat availability in Forestry and other allied courses. Keep checking the official OUAT counselling portal regularly and fill your preferences carefully to maximize your chances.
With 71.88% in Class 10 , 82.66% in Class 12 , and a OUAT 2025 score of 116 (SC category) , you’re in a competitive position. Unfortunately, detailed cutoffs for SC aren’t officially out yet. For general reference, the qualifying score is around 45–50% , and counselling begins in early August. Strong SC candidates often secure seats in courses like B.Sc. Agriculture , Horticulture , or Forestry , depending on seat availability. You should attend counselling, fill your choices wisely, and stay updated on the official OUAT website.
Hello
With 94 marks in OUAT exam and having 89,77 in 10th and 70,83 in 12th, your chances of getting into OUAT (Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology) is good, but it depends upon your course preference (B.Sc Agri, B.V.Sc, B.Tech etc).
For general category students, the previous years cutoff have been 97-105 marks and you just fall short of that cutoff but your Class 10th marks could make up for it.
Thank You!!!
