    About PAU Ludhiana

    Established in 1962, Punjab Agricultural University was inaugurated by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India on July 8, 1963. PAU Ludhiana has four constituent colleges- College of Agriculture, College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, College of Home Science and College of Basic Science and Humanities. PAU Ludhiana has 32 departments and 3 schools across its four constituent colleges.     Punjab Agricultural University Admissions

    Candidates are offered admission at Punjab Agricultural University at diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Punjab Agricultural University admissions are offered in the following branches: food processing, sciences, agricultural science, forestry, horticulture, genetics, fashion and textiles, agriculture, nutrition and food, communication management, fashion design, biochemistry and microbiology. Admission to diploma programmes at Punjab Agricultural University is offered based on merit followed by an interview, there shall be no entrance test for PAU Ludhiana diploma admissions. The university conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) for PAU Ludhiana admissions to B.Sc. Agricultural Hons, B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Food Technology, B.Sc. Community Science Hons and B.Sc. Horticulture. PAU CET qualified students are also eligible for Punjab Agricultural University admissions to M.Sc. integrated programmes.     Fellowship Rs. 75,000/- per month (consolidated) Research Grant Rs. 2,00,000/

    Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. degree (including course work) from a recognised university.

    Candidates should be working (in-service) in an institution under ICAR-AU System. He/she should have completed a minimum of three years of service (including clearance of probation) in the regular capacity as a Scientist or equivalent in ICAR-AUs system working in any area of Teaching/Research/Extension.


    The upper age limit is 40 years. 

    Prime Minister’s Fellowship for Doctoral Research

    Fellowship of Rs. 8,70,000 per annum for four years.

    Candidates must be Indian nationals and full-time Ph.D. registered with any academic or research institution offering Ph.D. degree.


    Must apply within 14 months of Ph.D admission. Aspirants must have completed all the past educational requirements.
