Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati was established under the Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam Act of 1983 in 1983 by Sri N.T.Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The aim behind the establishment of this university was to train women students as better builders of the Nation. The campus spreads over 138.43 acres of land. SPMVV is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Currently, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam offers undergraduate programmes (B.Ed., LL.B., B.P.Ed.), postgraduate programmes (M.Sc., MBA, Master of Commerce, MAJMC, M.A., LL.M., M.P.Ed., M.S.W.) and doctoral programmes to the students. In the NIRF rankings of 2021, the university has been ranked 44th in the pharmacy category.

Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam is located at Padmavathi Nagar, Near West Railway Station in Tirupati (Chittoor). Nearest railway station to SPMVV is Tirupati West Halt Railway Station which is 2.8 km away from the university. Tirupati International Airport is 22.8 km away from Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam. Nearest bus stand to SPMVV is Tirupati Central Bus Station. It is 4.3 km away from the university campus. The university has been ranked 44th in the pharmacy category of the NIRF 2021 rankings and it has secured an overall score of 45.4. The institute was ranked 42nd in the NIRF 2020 rankings.

Clubs, Committees and Societies:

• Literacy Club: Literacy club of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam is for the literature lovers in the campus. The club often organises various interesting activities like language competitions, writing competitions, etc for the students. Anyone can participate in these competitions organised by the Literacy Club.

• Cultural Club: Cultural club of SPMVV organises and manages all the cultural activities on the campus. This club organises events like dance competitions, singing battle, Slam poetry, Standup Comedy, etc. The club provides the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of everyone.

• Eco Club: Eco Club is a voluntary club that encourages the students to improve the environment and learn about it. This club runs various campaigns to help the communities become more environmentally friendly.

• Sports Club: The university believes that physical fitness is also important for the students. That’s why Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam has a sports club on campus which organises various sports activities for the students. Students of SPMVV also take part in intercollege and intracollege competitions. 

• Media Club: A team of students works in the media club of SPMVV. This team writes the articles about the activities happening on the campus and then publishes it on the website. The main objective of this club is to cover stories around the campus.

• SPMVV Students Union: Students Union of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam provides services to students. The Students Union has various departments under it which takes care of various activities on campus.
