Ashoka has made me realise how much there is to education other than just mugging up. Ashoka develops you holistically and makes you a better person from within. there are many societies which are active, our canteen is amazing, dorm rooms are the best and the best part about our college is the faculty. there is life beyond the cliched Delhi university and I feel Ashoka can go a long way since it has a wide array of subjects and opportunities for students. it has tie-ups with the one the best universities abroad.

At Ashoka I am pursuing a degree in Computer Science . At the same time I'm also taking courses spanning economics, history, literature, film making etc. It's enriching in the sense that my breadth of knowledge has increased and also that I have started realising that these subjects no matter how different ,converge at some point. Here, we design our own course structure, select majors as per choice and are allowed to switch if we want. I think this exploration is very important in the undergraduate years to realise what one wants to do in life. It helps us narrow down better in the years to come. As far as the campus culture is concerned, it is very lively. We have students from all types of backgrounds studying together. It is a huge learning experience in itself. The faculty includes some very renowned Indian scholars as well as exceptional professors from the overseas. The classroom environment is such that I haven't missed a single class even though the attendance requirements aren't very rigid. The sporting facilities include a volleyball court, basketball court, frisbee field, cricket ground, football field, swimming pool, a shooting range, a tennis court and a squash court. There is a 24*7 functional gym also. However there are some significant cons too. The fees at Ashoka is quite high in comparison to other colleges in India. However it is just a fraction of what one pays for studying abroad. A significant number of students get a financial aid depending on their financial conditions. I, myself have been completely exempted from the fee payment. The university is also very new with its first batch graduating only in 2017. So the placement record cannot be commented upon. However, it's PG batch also known as Young India Fellowship has had a terrific placement record. I cannot think of any other cons at this moment. Join Ashoka if you want to discover yourself, understand the world better and become a better human being.
