    Established in 1968, Assam Agricultural University is commonly known as AAU Jorhat. The university is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC). AAU Jorhat has six faculties namely the Faculty of Sericulture, Faculty of Horticulture, Faculty of Fisheries Science, Faculty of Community Science, Faculty of Veterinary Science and Faculty of Agriculture.     AAU Jorhat Placements

    Established in 1998, the training and placement cell of AAU Jorhat was formed to cater to the needs of students for their career development. Assam Agricultural University placements and affairs related to it are managed by the placement cell of the university. The training and placement cell initiates and manages the AAU Jorhat placements. The cell organises various placement activities such as training programmes on personality development, communication skills, leadership and other areas to smoothen the Assam Agricultural University placements. AAU Jorhat admissions are offered in the branches such as agricultural science, veterinary science, agriculture business management, food processing, horticulture, sciences etc. AAU Jorhat courses offered for admissions are B.Sc., B.V.Sc., M.Sc., M.B.A. etc.  AAU Jorhat admission to undergraduate programmes is based on the performance of students in the common entrance test. Students who have passed 10+2 from the science stream having the certificate of permanent residence of Assam only should apply for the entrance examination for Assam Agricultural University admissions. Admission into the B.V.Sc.& A.H. programmes of the university will be governed by the Veterinary Council of  India. Students need to qualify for NEET to be eligible for AIPVT counselling.     Assam Agriculture University happens to be the first agricultural university in the north eastern region of the country. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Home Science, Fisheries Science, Horticulture and Sericulture.

    Admission  into all  B.Sc. courses is on the basis of merit in 10+2 examination. Counseling is done at the  university level for the course. Candidates can fill in the  admission  form online and pay the  entrance  fee.
