Assam University, Silchar is a central government University which was established in 1994 after the enactment of the Assam(Central) University Act of 1989. This university has always been in the pursuit of perfection in education, and it is certainly visible on the various courses they offer. It is well on its way to be deemed as an 'Institute of Excellence'. The campus is spread over 600 acres and provides an ideal environment for its researchers, students, and staff. Assam University is located in Silchar, Hailakandi road which is on the outskirts of Silchar, which is approximately 23 km away from the city of Silchar. Students can reach the campus by various means of transport. By air, the nearest airport to the university is the Kumbhirgram airport, which is 45 km away from the campus. From the airport, to reach the campus, one can get a taxi which will take around 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the campus. Students can also travel by auto from Silchar directly to the university campus. Those travelling by train, the Silchar railway station is located 20 km away. Students can reach the campus in 45 minutes from the railway station.
The admission for PhD notice was released by the university in August 2020.
The merit list for work department admission was released in October 2020.
Admission notice for MBA course degree was announced in August of 2020.
MA/MSc in statistics admission test was conducted by the statistics department in November 2020.
Various postgraduate degree courses admissions were released by the university in November.

The University being Central varsity has very good infrastructure and the facilities are also well very maintained.It has facilities such as Wi-Fi, smart boards, library, laboratory,Computer classroom, separate toilet for girls.
Yes college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. They have all facilities like laboratories, libraries, sports centres and hostels. They have wifi too. Yes they are well maintained.
The Dept of Statistics comes with a very well experienced teachers and the help to learn statistics according to market standards. The labs are very well maintained with updated statistical software. The infrastructure is pretty well and comes with clean and hygienic environment. Though the hostels are less compared to students so there is always a rush.
Yes,you can change your college/uni from one university to other in 2nd year but the chances are really low try to score really good marks in your 1st year and also make sure you get a seat before going for another university and then proceed for further process, you'll need migration certificate and probably a NOC from the former university.
For taking admission in B pharmacy course Assam University Silchar, should I pass 12 science is physics chemistry and biology or mathematics and English with at least 50% marks and appear for an entrance test . On the basis of qualifying works and entrance test marks and personal interview B pharm course admission in Assam University Silchar is taken for 2022 2023 session which is a four years course. Course fees in total 1,40,000 of rupees.
