The English major at the School of Liberal Arts, Bennett University, offers a captivating journey into the world of literary exploration and critical analysis. English as a discipline explores literature, language, and cultural studies. It encompasses the study of classical and contemporary works, literary criticism, and creative writing. The field encourages analytical thinking, effective communication, and an appreciation of diverse literary traditions.

The English program is designed to: (i) introduce foundational texts and critical theories in the first two semesters; (ii) engage with literary analysis, language studies, and creative writing in the following semesters: and (iii) offer electives in world literature, digital humanities, and translation studies in the later years.

• Theory courses – 3-4 lectures a week depending on course credits, each lasting 55 minutes.
• Writing workshops – Creative and academic writing assignments.

The curriculum is designed to offer a strong academic foundation through Major-Core courses, complemented by Major-Electives for added specialization.
