Best for Them who want Practical Explosion In Mechanical.

Batch of 2016 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
If you want to learn something with a practical explosion with your own choice of subjects, then It will be the best to select CUTM. i.e. If you choose Mechanical, then also you can study subjects of IT with Basic Mechanical Subjects. There is no burden in students to study compulsory subjects. The environment is good to study, as the infrastructure and the location of the Institution is in a decent place. You will get separate labs for practicals. For especially Mechanical aspirant I will suggest this one is Best in Odisha, as having advanced equipment like (CMM-Coordinate Measuring Machine, SEM-Scanning Electron Microscope, Advanced CNC Machine- Mazak Controller, FANUC Controller, Diesel Engine Lab- Exploring the EICHER Engines and Heavy Vehicles, Partnered with Dassault' Systemes for Academic Development et.) There should be some Timely Industrial Visit should be provided by the Institution Authority to expose more. College should have to focus on campus drive of Core-Students also. For the placement purpose, training methods should be changed. The college is affordable because here anyone can get the value of Money they spend.

About College:

The Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) is located in the town of Paralakhamundi. This town is in the Gajapati district of Odisha. It was set up in the year 2010, with full university status, with UGC (University Grants Commission) recognition. It became the youngest ever institute in India to be accredited by the NAAC (National Assessments and Accreditation Council), even ending up with an A grade rating. The NBA (National Board of Accreditation) has now done likewise. A separate IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) has been created to this end, to ensure that all the terms of the NAAC are complied with. An AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report) gets generated to quantify the results.

The CUTM later on opened another campus in the state capital of Bhubaneshwar. Further, it now has a campus in the state of Andhra Pradesh (AP). Regional campuses exist in other parts of Odisha too. These are in – Bolangir, Chhatrapur and in Rayagada. But the seeds of the now sprawling group, began early in 2005, with the takeover of the then- struggling Jagannath Institute of Technology and Management (JITM). Now the CUTM has even been named by the NITI Aayog as the Gram Tarang, or model educational institution for the state of Odisha. All this has impressed reviewers enough for the NIRF (National Institutional Rankings Framework) to place the CUTM within the 151-200 band among all universities.

Courses are available at the CUTM right from the UG till doctoral levels. There is a huge assortment of option at the undergrad level for engineering programmes. The B. Tech degree is offered for engineering programmes in the areas of- Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Agricultural, Automotive, Biotechnology, Cloud Technology & Information Security, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication and in Cloud Technology & Mobile Application. B Sc. programmes may also be undertaken here at the UG level. They may be in the areas of- Fishery Science, Medical Lab Technology, Fashion & Design, Optometry and in Radiology & Imaging Technology. The lateral entry option is available for many of these. Further at the UG level, some BA courses are also available for Media and Communication. Also available is the B. Com. For architecture and pharma, respectively are the B. Arch and the B. Pharma programmes that may be pursued from here. The BBA option is also there, including one with a specialization in Financial Services.

At the PG level, the course options get more specialized. There are options at MSc. here for- Agriculture, Applied & Clinical Microbiology, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Botany, Information Technology, Soil Science, Zoology, Medical Lab Technology and for Radiology & Imaging Technology. Likewise, options galore for an M. Tech. Here, they may be pursued in the fields of- Communication Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, VLSI Design, Computer Science, Tech Design & Manufacturing, Embedded System, Power Systems & Control Engineering, Data Science and for Internet Security. An MA can be opted for here in English or for Media and Communication.

The option of an MBA is also present. One can even go for an Integrated B. Tech plus MBA programme which runs for the duration of five years. Another area where the CUTM has made a name for itself is the diploma courses. Several of them are available, aiming at skill enhancement. They are available in several engineering and tech areas, with shorter term study durations. A team of educators from Australia are overseeing this skill development wing here. Doctoral programmes may also likewise, be pursued in here. Several patents have been granted to the university and the faculty members here.

The CUTM is also renowned for its use of tech for academic purposes. This is why it has made use of Virtual Labs, making use of the tech developed by the Amrita Group of Institutions. There are several institutes nationally participating in this scheme for Virtual Labs. Some of the prominent signatories of this include the likes of- IIT Delhi, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, IIT Madras, NIT Karnataka, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, COE Pune, IIT Kanpur, Dayalbagh Educational Institute and several more. The course material at the CUTM has also been enabled on its open learning courseware.

The CUTM has been a leader when it comes to forging international academic or research ties. It is a partner to the USIEF (United States India Educational Foundation). This enables ease in facilitating exchange programmes for both the students, as well as faculty members. Some of the international ties have been with educational institutions in Australia, the UK and from France. Examples include- the University of Ballarat, Deakin University, Western Sydney University and the Leonardo da Vinci University. Consulting assignments have also been signed with various leading industry players or government bodies. EY has even cited the CUTM as a benchmark institution for “Creating Sustainable Livelihoods and Social Enterprise”. Other assignments have been taken up with the likes of – Eicher, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation, Accenture, Tata Motors, Ministry of Panchayat Raj, Yamaha Motors India, Café Coffee Day, Ashok Leyland, Schneider, Hyundai, SAP India and IBM besides several others.
