Chandigarh University stands Number 1 Private University in India by the QS World University Rankings 2024. CU is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The campus is spread over 150 acres of land. The university has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A+' grade.
The BE programme at Chandigarh University has been approved by the AICTE whereas the law programmes have been approved by the approved by Bar Council of India (BCI).
