The infrastructure is well set up and maintained. The management does a good job at taking feedback from students about the facilities and takes appropriate measures when necessary. The classrooms are smart board enabled and the internet connectivity is good too. Food tastes average but it is clean.
The curriculum was quite interesting since it covered a lot of latest topics and we got to learn quite a few job oriented skills and do valuable certifications alongside our main coursework. The faculty are very kind and helped out with clearing doubts always. It is definitely a course that gets you job ready.
We get a lot of good options to pursue after finishing our studies here and the packages are quite competitive. The process itself was quite streamlined and the teachers and staff cooperated whenever we required recommendation letters.
It is overall very good value for money because the facilities provided are good and the management is very responsive to students. The course is very career oriented and we get a lot of skill development programs and networking opportunities.
The campus life was quite good overall. It is located well within the city and is connected to all the happening places. I found the clubs and societies active on campus to be quite fun to be involved with outside of my academics.
It's a good option to study data science all things considered.
It has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments. The campus is very safe to the students. Here all students have 24 hour access to Computer lab equipped with HIgh speed Wi-Fi, library, etc. It has multiple discussion areas where students can gather in a group of three or four and study together without any disturbance.
I have got admission into Chennai Mathematical Institute, CMI and currently pursuing Bachelor's in Mathematics. Research is the most interesting thing which made me to choose this over another Institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. However, I had already got into IIIT Allahabad, but I withdraw my admission just to get into this institute. Since this is one of the prominent institutions for Research, the main focus is Research in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science and Physics.
Placements are much better than any other college. Even being a research institute, it has much better placements even for corporate jobs for those who wants to go for such jobs. It also provides internships. To apply for Internships, one has to write a letter/ mail and request for the same.Complete details can be found at its website.
Fee structure is very feasible. The annual fee for Bachelor courses is Rs. 200000 per annum (excluding hostel and mess charges which is Rs. 25,000 per semester). However, the students who qualify for admission to CMI and are financially weak to pay the fee, are granted scholarship on their financial background. The best scholarship which it provides is Shriram Scholarship which is given to some top scorers in its entrance exam. It provides full waiver of tuition fee and Rs. 5000 monthly stipend.
It has good campus life, better than any other prominent institution in India. It also has an annual event, TESSELLATE. It is held by students and research scholars at CMI. One main sub event is STEMS which is an online exam conducted during TESSELLATE. The top 50 scorers in the exam are invited for a 3 days fully funded camp at CMI and these students are exposed to mathematical research with prominent Mathematicians, Statisticians from all over the world.
Overall, CMI is much useful for students who are having keen interest in Mathematics and are particularly interested for Research.
Hello,
Yes, arts students with a background in mathematics are eligible to apply for the CMI entrance exam. The CMI entrance exam is open to students from various backgrounds and that includes arts with maths. The eligibility requirement is that the student must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with maths as a subject.
I hope this helps,
Thank you
Hii there,
In order to qualify for admission to a BSc program in Mathematics at the majority of colleges, students typically need to meet certain eligibility requirements. This includes having successfully completed their 10+2 education with Mathematics as one of their subjects and achieving a minimum score of 50%.
I hope this answers your question.
Thanking you
Dear aspirant,
By applying for CMI you are getting into a mathematical institute to do a bachelor's in maths. JEE will help you get into engineering colleges of your choice. So, naturally the requirements for the exams are different. The questions in CMI are mostly subjective and of the level of olympiads. It will require more critical thinking whereas JEE mains is mostly about solving the questions on time. The difficulty of the exam can be compared to that of JEE advanced acing CMI would require religious preparation tailored for the exam. As both exams require very different preparation approaches, think about what you want to pursue and then prepare accordingly.
Hope this helps.
