72 MonthsDoctor Of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Linguistics is a full-time postgraduate course offered by Deccan College of Post Graduate and Research Institute, Pune Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.

Eligibility Criteria
M.A. in Linguistics or one of the Classical or Modern Indian or foreign languages with a minimum of 55% marks or B + or an equivalent grade from a recognized University. Relaxation may be made regarding the percentage of marks by 5% in the case of Reserved Categories (SC, ST, PH). Students with having M.A. Degree in a subject other than Linguistics will have completed the M.Phil. course in Linguistics of any other recognized university to become eligible for admission to the Ph.D. course.
Admission Details
Admission to the Ph.D. program shall be done through an Entrance Test. Students who have passed GATE/NET/SET? M.PhiIIJRF examination in the relevant subject of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGCIICARIICMRI DBT will be exempted from the Entrance Test. The concerned Departmental Committee may give an exemption for the Ph.D. entrance test and coursework to a deserving candidate. While giving the exemption, the Departmental Committee may consider research work earlier in Ph.D./experience done by the candidate. if a candidate already holds a Ph.D. degree in a related subject from a recognized.
