Eligibility Criteria
M.A. in Linguistics or one of the Classical or Modern Indian or foreign languages with a minimum of 55% marks or B + or an equivalent grade from a recognized University. Relaxation may be made regarding the percentage of marks by 5% in the case of Reserved Categories (SC, ST, PH). Students with having M.A. Degree in a subject other than Linguistics will have completed the M.Phil. course in Linguistics of any other recognized university to become eligible for admission to the Ph.D. course.
Admission Details
Admission to the Ph.D. program shall be done through an Entrance Test. Students who have passed GATE/NET/SET? M.PhiIIJRF examination in the relevant subject of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGCIICARIICMRI DBT will be exempted from the Entrance Test. The concerned Departmental Committee may give an exemption for the Ph.D. entrance test and coursework to a deserving candidate. While giving the exemption, the Departmental Committee may consider research work earlier in Ph.D./experience done by the candidate. if a candidate already holds a Ph.D. degree in a related subject from a recognized.
