The university was established in 2010 by the state government act. It is a government-owned university. The campus of the university is spread over an area of 2 acres of land. Himachal Pradesh Technical University Admissions

Admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are offered by the university. Himachal Pradesh Technical University admission is based on merit scores of the entrance test. The entrance test is conducted by the university. For HPTU Hanmirpur admission, the university also accepts the scores of national-level entrance tests. At the time of seat allotment, the preference is given to national-level entrance test scores and if the seats remain vacant, then seats are allotted based on marks obtained in the state-level entrance test. It is to be noted that for Himachal Pradesh Technical University admission, seats are allocated on the basis of merit. After that selected candidates have to appear for counselling and submit the documents and pay the fees.

Himachal Pradesh Technical University Admission Process - B.Tech

• Meet the eligibility criteria.

• Appear for JEE Main/HPCET.

• The minimum qualifying marks for JEE Main is 15% and for HPCET is 20%.

Students at the university can avail scholarships like Kalpana Chawla Chatravriti Yojana Himachal Pradesh, PG Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Students for Pursuing Professional Courses, Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Specially Abled Student, Pragati Scholarship Scheme for Girl Students (Technical Degree) and many more. 1. Kalpana Chawla Chatravriti Yojana Himachal Pradesh- The girl student should be pursuing a regular academic, professional or technical course from government-aided or any private institution. The scholarship is disbursed as per the merit list provided by the H.P board of school education after 10+2 examination. Rs 15,000 per year is the scholarship amount awarded under this scheme.

2. Saksham Scholarship Scheme for Specially Abled Students- To avail the scholarship, candidates should be pursuing the first year of the degree programme, their disability to be not less than 40% with annual family income up to Rs. 8 lakhs. Rs 50,000 per annum is awarded to the beneficiary.
