24 MonthsMaster of Science (M.Sc) in Geography is a full-time two-year postgraduate course offered by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
Note: 25 Subsidized + 10 Non-Subsidised Seats.
Eligibility Criteria
A Bachelor's degree of a University established by law in India (with Geography as one of the subjects) with a minimum of 48 credits in Major subject, 48 credits in two minor subjects, 9 credits in compulsory, 1 credit in GI & hobby with aggregate of 106 credits for the award of pass degree.
OR
A Bachelor's degree with II Division or with at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) In aggregate in the subject concerned in three years of degree or Honours in the subject concerned.
OR
Degree of a foreign University which may be recognized as equivalent for the purpose by the Vice-Chancellor with such conditions as he may impose regarding the additional courses of study which the candidate would be required to pass to qualify for the degree.
Admission Details
Admission will be made on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test and previous academic record of the candidate.50% weightage each be given to entrance test and previous academic record of the candidate respectively. The weight age in academic record would be distributed as 40% weightage to the marks obtained in Bachelor Degree course and 10% to 10+2 marks. The entrance test would be of 50 marks consisting of 100 objective type question each carrying 0.5 mark. An additional weightage of 5% of the obtained marks in B.A./B.Sc. Honours in Geography. The candidate who have studied Geography as one of the subject in the Bachelor programme would be eligible for admission in Master Programme in Geography. The Written Test shall be comprise multiple choice questions (MCQ).

College Infrastructure
The infrastructure of himachal pardesh University shimla is not up to the mark. Because of its geographical location development of infrastructure here is very tough and costly. It lacks a proper campus also.
