Petroleum engineering is the branch of engineering with primary focus on exploration and production of Oil & Gas. The objective of the programme is to prepare graduates for professional practice in the industry in the field of petroleum engineering technology with an emphasis on upstream activities that encompass exploration, reservoir and production. The programme intends to create technical professionals who are fit to take on engineering responsibilities across the entire value-chain in the Oil & Gas Industry a specialization that has seen growing demand in recent years. The programme is designed to develop skills and understanding in the fundamental aspects of petroleum engineering and apply best global practices in the Oil & Gas sector fields of natural gas processing, gas transportation and gas utilization techniques.
Eligibility Criteria
Performance in Class XII (or Equivalent) Board Examinations:
Candidates must PASS class XII exam with the following subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- A language
- Any subject other than the above four
Admission Details
Admission will be based on JEE (Advanced)
candidate should satisfy at least one of the following two criteria for admission to IITs.
Students should have taken JEE (Advanced) and must separately apply for IIPE counselling through Online Application Portal. Admissions are on the basis of the scores in JEE (Advanced). Admission forms can be filled-up on-line after payment of Application fee only.
