I would suggest you to pursue your career in food technology at NIFTEM, Sonepat rather than pursuing biotechnology at NIT Jalandhar. See, in NIFTEM, this premier institute established by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, offers a range of various courses related to food & nutrition and technology & management. It also provides UG courses, PG courses, MBA and PhD. It is a good selection for the students who are much keen in biology and chemistry and food science. Infrastructure is very good and lab facilities are much up to the mark so that the students can learn smoothly and efficiently. Faculties are quite hard working and always there for the students to help. Placements are also good and top companies like Nestle recruit the students who qualified and did well in the interviews. The eligibility criteria to pursue MBA in National Institute of food technology entrepreneurship and management, ( NIFTEM ), states that the candidate must have completed graduation degree in relevant field with atleast 50% ( general category ) marks from a recognised Board of education. For reserved categorise, the minimum marks is 45% in graduation.
So, if you specify the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the ourse.

For admission in National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat Food technology B.Tech course you need to give Joint entrance examination (JEE) Main paper 1. Candidates needs to register and apply on the college website. Candidates have to take and qualify JEE Main. A merit list will be prepared purely based on All India Rank of JEE Main. after the gate score declared you need to apply in official website of NIFTEM for mtech admission, candidates are shortlisted basis on gate score with follows by a personal interview round.  after the completion of the process remaining seats of mtech course is fill up by non gate students which is done by entrance exam conducts by the institute.

Hello student admission in NIFTEM(National national institute of food technology entrepreneurship and MANAGEMENT) takes student through Jossa counselling on the basis of JEE main marks. So if you want to take admission in NIFTEM then you have to appear in jee main as you mentioned you're in bsc so you must pass your class 12 before 2017 so as per jee main eligibility you're not eligible to appear in jee main but if you did your class 12 in the year of 2018 or after that then you can appear in jee main.

NIFTEM is a good choice for you. The curriculum for this course is very unique. It is a industry oriented course. Placement are really good with major companies are coming like nestle, dabur, pepsico are few. Apart from academics, infrastructure is very good. As it is a new institute, it is just about to spread its wings.
