RGIPT Amethi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

RGIPT offers BTech in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Petroleum Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Environmental Engineering and Renewable Energy  Engineering, Geo Science and Engineering. All these programmes are of four years duration. Scores in JEE (A) is the deciding factor for admission to any of these programmes. The total fee for each of this programme is Rs 1041400 (for GEN/OBC/EWS) and Rs 851400 (for SC/ST/PwD).

RGIPT offers doctoral or PhD programmes in Chemical Engineering & Biochemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Management Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Petroleum Engineering & Geoengineering, Sciences & Humanities. The duration of the PhD programmes is between 3 to 6 years each. The eligibility would be a master's degree in the specific discipline or allied discipline with 60 percent marks or a cumulative performance index (CPI) of 6.00. A minimum of 75 percent marks or 7.5 CPI in bachelor's degree. For applicants with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70 percent or 7.0 CPI at the bachelor's degree from an institution funded by the Central Government.

RGIPT has seven departments. The departments are Petroleum Engineering and Geoengineering, Chemical Engineering and Biochemical Engineering, Sciences and Humanities, Management Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering,  Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Undergraduate programmes BTech, postgraduate programme Mtech and MBA are offered in these departments. While admission to BTech progrmmes are based on JEE(A) scores, admissions to MTech programmes are based on the institute specific entrance exam and GATE scores. Admissions to MBA programmes are based on the scores of CAT/ CMAT/ XAT/ MAT/ GMAT. 

Yes, RGIPT has collaborations with both national and international universities. National universities include several IITs, CSIRs and other national universities of importance. Universities abroad include Chonnam National University, Republic of Korea; University Clermont Auvergne, France; Lund University, Sweden; Kunshan University, Tainan, Taiwan; Università di Salerno, Italy; Università di Napoli Naples, Italy; University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China; Kansas State University, USA; Geology Department, Faculty of Applied Science, Taiz University Yemen; and Department of Geology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Variety of facilities is there for the students of RGIPT Amethi. This includes separate hostels for boys and girls and a well-equipped gym. Varied collections of national and international magazines, books and journals adore the institute's library. Indoor and outdoor sports grounds are there for the students to take part in various sports-related activities.  It provides a wi-fi connection 24*7.  It also has a cafeteria which serves healthy and hygienic food. The campus houses a health care centre with first aid facilities to address the emergency needs of the students, teachers and staff on the campus

The entrance exam for admission to the RGIPT- CSE programme is the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. The fee for the programme is Rs 1041400 (for GEN/OBC/EWS) and Rs 851400 (for SC/ST/PwD). The number of seats for the programme is 60.

RGIPT is a central government Institute. It was set up by The ministry of petroleum under an act of Parliament as an Institute of National Importance. RGIPT is being mentored by IIT Kanpur.  It offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in science, engineering and management. Offering a total of 26 courses, RGIPT also provides scholarship and placement support for its students.
