24 MonthsThe Masters programme of DDSS is designed to inspire and equip students with necessary skills to expand knowledge of various aspects of defence and strategic studies. The Department conducts four semesters (two years) of M.A/M.Sc. degree course. The course is structured to follow semester and credit system with total number of 64 credits for this Master programme. Evaluation is done on the basis of internal assessment which carries 50 marks and external assessment (semester end examination) which carries 50 marks.
Compulsory courses cover the area of Contemporary Strategy, International Relations, National Security, Geopolitics and Military Geography, Defence Economics and Science and Technology and its impact on security.
Graduate in Defence & Strategic Studies (Special or General) / Military Science (Special or General) / Security Studies / National Security Studies
The Department admits 30 students per year. Through the SPPU central admission procedure, the entrance examination is conducted. The department prepares the merit list on the basis of the result of the entrance examination. University rules and regulations about reservations and various quotas are followed, while Preparing Final Merit list for admission.
