MA English at Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok Offline Course

M.A. in English with a specialization in Post-Colonial Literature is a two-year full-time course of the Department of English and offered by Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok.

M.A. in English aims at fostering critical scholarship, research aptitude, and in-depth literary analysis. It provides students with comprehensive exposure to British, American, and World literatures, alongside literary criticism, theory, cultural studies, linguistics, and interdisciplinary approaches. Semesters one & two focus on foundational courses in literary periods, critical traditions, and theoretical frameworks. In semesters three & four, the curriculum engage students with specialized electives, advanced literary discourse, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Semester four also includes a dissertation component, allowing students to undertake independent research under faculty guidance, thereby strengthening academic writing, critical interpretation, and methodological skills. The program aligns with UGC and NEP guidelines, balancing core courses, electives, seminars, and research training, preparing graduates for academic, professional, and research-based careers.
