MA Sociology at Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok Offline Course

M.A. in Sociology with a special focus on North East India is a two-year full-time course of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. and course offered by Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok.

To make the students aware and alert of the social phenomena surrounding everyday life by exposing them to various sociological concepts and theories which will enable them to see the structural conditionings that shape individual social life.

Students will demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the logic, methods, and applications of sociological inquiry, which will be enhanced through in-depth field-based participatory study in the process of preparing their dissertation in the final semester.

Students will demonstrate the ability to independently critically evaluate and apply sociological theories and research methods to specific sociological problems.
