B.Sc Biomedical Sciences at The Apollo University, Chittoor Offline Course

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biomedical Sciences is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by Apollo University, Chittoor.

Biomedical Science is an interdisciplinary course that studies human health and disease. In the first year, the core courses enable the students to glimpse the introductory subjects such as chemistry relevant to biology, anatomy and physiology and coordinated functioning of the organ systems. In the second year, the students would build on what they learned in the first year. The subjects are more advanced and relevant to biomedicine, such as clinical Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, and Genomics. In addition, the students will get hands-on training on the tools used in medical lab techniques, epidemiology, forensic science, and modern biology under the skill enhancement courses. The third year will have highly specialised subjects, including courses like biomedical instrumentation, medicinal chemistry and drug development, and Medical Biotechnology as part of the discipline-specific electives. A unique feature in B.Sc. Biomedical Science is the provision of a project work/dissertation that a student can opt for in lieu of a student interest field of research in biomedical sciences. Introducing the Research Component at the UG level provides a perfect platform for a career in advanced research and development. The Biomedical Science program offers a sound background to the subject as well as opportunities to work with world-class scientists conducting research into the normal and abnormal development and function of various cells, systems and individuals.
