36 Months- Chemistry is a door-opening degree. There is a substantial traditional chemical industry (pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, fine chemicals etc.) in this southern zone of state; in addition, there are many opportunities in analytical chemistry, in industry, the environment and in forensics. In all these areas there are both large and small companies, all needing well-qualified chemists. Thus, Uka Tarsadia University has started a unique undergraduate course.
- The key features are very broadly based the first-year course designed to provide a solid foundation for the subsequent three years. Students will have to study only subjects related to chemistry. In addition to the traditional areas of Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry, it includes coverage of Environmental Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, biological chemistry, Computer science, Communication skills etc. The laboratory component of the course runs throughout the working year. It starts with an introduction of basic techniques to advanced laboratory exercises and experiments are designed to provide a realistic training in experimental chemistry by building on basic preparative skills.
Eligibility Criteria
A person, who have passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.
