A candidate must have passed the Higher-Secondary School Certificate Examination (H.S.C.) with English being one of the subjects, held at the end of XIIth standard, conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher-Secondary Education or an Examination of the another University, or any other Board or recognized as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate (45% marks in case of Backward class candidates from the Maharashtra State only). Must have passed the Intermediate Drawing Grade Examination of Directorate of Art, Maharashtra State, except the candidates coming from the states other than Maharashtra and are eligible for Government of India reserved seats, so also candidates coming from other countries may be exempted from passing the Intermediate Drawing Grade Examination and should be allowed to appear for entrance Test. Should pass an Entrance-Aptitude Test prescribed by the University and conducted by the college/institution concerned.
