Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate program recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the School of Engineering at the Vel's Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies, Chennai.

Eligibility Criteria

First Semester of B.E / B.Tech : Should have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations of (10+2) Curriculum (Academic Steam) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects or any examination of any other authority accepted by the BOM of Vels University as equivalent there to for B.E., Bio -Medical and B.Tech., Biotechnology apart from MPC, Biology as fourth paper is preferable.
Should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Vocational Stream (Vocational Groups in Engineering / Technology)
Lateral Entry : The Candidate who passes the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the concerned State Board of Technical Education or its equivalent are eligible to apply for Lateral Entry admission to the third semester of B.E., / B.Tech. in the branch corresponding to the branch of study.
The candidate who passes the degree in Science (B.Sc (10+2+3 stream with Mathematics as a subject at the B.Sc Level are eligible to apply for Lateral Entry admission to the third semester of B.E., / B.Tech.s Such candidate shall undergo two additional Engineering subjects(s) in the third and fourth semesters as prescribed by the University

Admission Details

Admission is Merit Based on Vels Entrance Examination Score and Merit Based on Percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination.

College Infrastructure

It is good amazing literally a decent infrastructure. The blocks are near they are cleaned regularly. Overall good infrastructure and the facilities are good labs are good and equipped with different equipment

College Infrastructure

My College had average lab facilities for ECE and EEE.But for CSE it is very good.It is excellent for Pharmacy,Arts and Science.For Mechanical there is no lab.So be Careful before joining.Academic Curriculum changes every two years.You are trained for job and get an internship. You are advised to doing certificate courses and interships.But for Mechanical like courses academics is very poor.
