This is a Government College. The facilities w.r.t. labs, classrooms are adequate. However, state of the art classrooms are yet to be developed. The partical classes, the equipment and lab attendants are really good
The faculties are one of the best. The classroom interactions are so good, you do not any additional coaching if you pay attention to the classes and attend them regularly. Professors are available for any kind of help and support.
Placement opportunities are not much truly speaking. At least not much from college. This is also because most students want to do post graduation rather than join low paying jobs. You can parallelly prepare for govt. Or other exams yourself.
This is a Government institute. The fees are really really nominal. There are also scholarships available for the weaker sections. Library is good. There is no hidden or additional costs.
There is not much campus Life. Particularly for the science Hons. Courses, it is difficult to take out time for extra curriculars. It feels more like school than college.
This is a good institute of your focus is study. Extra curricular activities are not much.
The college had pretty decent infrastructure, facilities were good and well equipped. Classrooms were big to accommodate around 90 to 100 students. The living spaces were clean and the food provided in the canteen were healthy and clean.
Basically I graduated in 2023, my stream was BCom program. The quality of teaching was top notch. Teachers were supportive and polite. Even it is recognized as one of the top colleges in Durgapur. The teachers provided good lectures. Academic pressure was not too much nor not too low, still some how I managed to top my batch.
To be very honest, placements provided by the collage were not that good. Not much companies came for the placement drive, still few managed to get a decent job from the placement drive conducted by the college.
My course hardly costed 2 to 3 thousands per year. That comes up to max 9,000 in total in 3 years.
The college boasts a modern and eco-friendly infrastructure that fosters both academic excellence and overall development. Spread across a spacious, green campus, the institution provides a serene learning environment supported by well-designed academic and recreational zones . The main academic block consists of technologically equipped classrooms with LCD projectors, Wi-Fi connectivity, and ample natural lighting and ventilation to ensure maximum comfort for students and faculty Specialized laboratories for science, computer studies, and other disciplines are equipped with advanced tools in accordance with university standards, facilitating hands-on learning and research
The college maintains a dynamic academic framework that emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application . The curriculum is structured to meet national educational standards, integrating core discipline courses with skill-based, value-added, and ability enhancement modules . Students can choose from a range of electives across disciplines to encourage interdisciplinary learning and foster a holistic educational experience .Each program follows a credit-based system that ensures academic flexibility and continuous assessment. The structure typically includes core papers, generic and discipline-specific electives, and courses that promote communication, digital literacy, environmental awareness, and ethical values . Research projects, internships, and community outreach programs are an integral part of the learning model, ensuring that students gain real-world exposure and industry-relevant experience
The college has a strong placement record, supported by a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that bridges the gap between academics and industry expectations . The placement process begins with pre-placement training programs that include aptitude preparation, resume building, and mock interviews, ensuring students are well-prepared to face recruitment drives
Industry-academia collaborations, internships, and corporate tie-ups contribute to consistent skill development and employability enhancement. The placement team also organizes career fairs, alumni interactions, and technical workshops, encouraging students to align their goals with market trends. This integrated approach ensures that each graduating student is equipped not only with a degree but also with professional confidence and job readiness for an evolving global workforce
Good
The classrooms and labs work fine, but some of the facilities feel outdated and could use modernization. The library is okay but gets crowded during busy times. Overall, while the basics are there, better maintenance and upgrades would make a big difference.
I did my bcom hons accounting from her and academically, I find the university offers a solid education, but the curriculum could use some updates. Some of the courses seem a bit outdated compared to current industry standards. The faculty is knowledgeable, but there’s room for improvement in keeping the content and teaching methods more current with the trends
The placement cell tries to connect students with job opportunities, but the results can vary. I noticed that while some students get good positions, others might find the process less effective. More effort in building stronger industry connections could help.
I think the fees at the university are a bit high for what’s provided. The quality of education is reasonable, but the facilities and resources don’t always justify the cost. They need to work on this things.
Campus life is engaging, but it could be better. There are a few activities and events, but they aren’t as frequent or varied as I would have liked. The campus environment is generally good, but it lacks some of the vibrancy and community spirit that other universities have. More initiatives to enhance campus life and student engagement would be great..
Infrastructure was pretty good. Classes were very much regular. Practical labs were well equipped. We have a central library with huge book collection. We have a library in our department too with only Geology books. The departmental library was pretty good. The book issue procedure was pretty simple. We faced no problem.
We have a separate building for only geology section. So we have our own classrooms. Classes were pretty regular. Professors ended their respective syllabus before the final exam. Practical classes were also regular and we learned many things. Professors helped us to learn many things in our academic field work too.
Placements were not good, but I can say professors helped us to learn so many things that the students do not need to rely on campus placement. each and every student in our department is well established in their life all because of the guidance of our respected and beloved professors.
The course fee in this institute is very low. The student who comes from lower economical background can also afford the institute course fee.
Campus life was also very nice. We have a playground. We used to play their badminton, football and many sports.
