The fully residential two years (PGDFM) Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management was launched in July, 1988 for young graduates from all over the country, belonging to different streams of knowledge to meet the requirement for professional managerial manpower in forestry and allied sectors. PGDFM is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and equated to a corresponding Masters Degree of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The PGDFM program aims to develop professionals who will have a judicious mix of three different kinds of skills-first, familiarity with a variety of scientific and technical aspects of forestry, environment and development sector. Second, grounding in basic analytical and managerial skills; and third, to apply the technical, analytical and managerial skills in the real field to assist and influence the decision making process.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (it may also be referred to as Persons With Disability (PWD) categories), awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2025 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2025) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.

Admission Details

Entrance Exams

Apply and appear for any if the entrance exam CAT 2025/ XAT 2026/MAT 2025/MAT (FEB) 2026/CMAT 2025 & 2026. IIFM will use CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT score for short-listing the candidates.

Apply to IIFM Online through www.iifm.ac.in/admission and remit the fee through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. • Application fee Rs. 1500/- for GEN/NC-OBC/DA/ EWS category and Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST. • Last date for receipt of application is 31st December 2025.

Personal Interviews

Based on the scores of qualifying exam, candidates will be called for Personal Interview which will be conducted offline mode in the following centres viz. 1) Ahmedabad 2) Bhopal 3) Delhi 4) Guwahati 5) Chennai 6) Bengaluru 7) Kolkata

Architecture by Charles Correa. Modern Infrastructure with proper Facilities and Equipment. Classrooms are Air Conditioned with Comfortable Furniture and smart Classroom Model. Decent Library and Sports Area, Hostels are Well Ventilated and Receive adequate Sunlight. Mess is Hygienic and Spacious.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure and building design of IIFM is considered to be a work of art. It has all the required facilities like smart classes, computer lab, auditorium, WiFi connectivity throughout the campus, etc., within an expansive green space of 230 acres. Swaruchi Mess, the student-run Mess, works tirelessly towards providing nutritious and hygienic food. IIFM has a brilliant collection of books in its library and regularly updates the same. Apart from all this, it also has a dedicated sports Centre
