Batch of 2021-01-01 | BA Social Sciences - Economics Hons

    College Infrastructure

Banaras Hindu University has one of the best infrastructures in India. The classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated, equipped with projectors and necessary facilities. The central library is very resourceful with a wide collection of books, journals, and digital materials. Laboratories are well-maintained and regularly updated with modern equipment for soil sciences and economics-related practical work. The campus also offers good sports facilities, large playgrounds, and separate indoor game centers. Hostel facilities are satisfactory with clean rooms and decent WiFi connectivity. Mess food is hygienic and offers both north and south Indian options, though taste could be improved.

    Academics

The quality of academics at BHU is excellent. The faculty members are highly experienced, knowledgeable, and approachable. The Soil Sciences – Economics Hons program combines both technical and analytical aspects, making the course unique. The curriculum is updated regularly, ensuring students are in touch with the latest research and industry developments. Practical learning through fieldwork, surveys, and workshops is a strong part of the course. Teachers focus not only on theoretical knowledge but also on critical thinking and application-based learning. This makes the course relevant for both higher education and career opportunities

    Placements

Decent opportunities. BHU has a good placement cell, especially for professional courses, though core placements for Soil Sciences – Economics Hons are limited. Many students opt for higher education, research, or government exams. Some opportunities are available in NGOs, research organizations, and private companies, but the package is not always very high. With the right skills, students can secure decent roles in policy analysis, agriculture economics, or research fields.

    Batch of 2023-01-01 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering

    College Infrastructure

The college campus is spacious and has the essential infrastructure. The classrooms are standard but are equipped with projectors and Wi-Fi, which are functional most of the time. The mechanical labs, such as the CAD/CAM lab and the Strength of Materials lab, have the necessary equipment, but some machines are outdated and maintenance can be slow. The central library is well-stocked with books, though access to premium online journals could be improved. The hostels are average; the rooms are basic but generally clean.

    Academics

I pursued a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. The quality of teaching is a mixed bag; there are a few excellent professors who are very knowledgeable and supportive, but there are also others who rely heavily on rote learning from outdated materials. The curriculum for Mechanical Engineering covers the fundamental topics but is not as updated as it should be to include the latest trends like Industry 4.0, advanced robotics, and sustainable engineering. While the course provides a strong theoretical base, it lacks sufficient practical, hands-on projects that make students truly job-ready.

    Placements

Placements for the Mechanical Engineering branch are challenging. The college sees a good number of companies visiting for IT and CS/IT branches, but core mechanical companies are few and far between. Most of the opportunities offered to mechanical students are in the IT sector as analysts or consultants, requiring you to learn coding skills separately. The average package for mechanical students is significantly lower compared to other branches. While the placement cell is active in organizing drives, their focus is predominantly on mass recruiters for software roles.

    Batch of 2026-01-01 | MBA

    College Infrastructure

The college has all the necessary infrastructure for MBA students. Classrooms are spacious with proper seating, projectors, and WiFi connectivity. The library is well-stocked with updated books, journals, and digital resources. Computer labs are maintained and useful for research work. The campus has sports facilities and a gym where students can relax after studies. Hostel rooms are clean, with good ventilation and regular cleaning. Mess food is hygienic and decent in taste

    Academics

The academic quality here is very good. I am pursuing an MBA, and the teaching methods are interactive with case studies, presentations, and group discussions. Faculty members are highly experienced and always ready to guide us. The curriculum is updated with current industry requirements, making it more practical and job-oriented. Special focus is given to skill development, communication, and personality growth.

    Placements

Placements are good with many reputed companies visiting the campus. Students get opportunities in finance, marketing, HR, and operations roles. The average package is decent, and some students even get higher packages depending on their skills. The placement cell is supportive, conducts training sessions, mock interviews, and aptitude practice, which makes us confident for real interviews.

    College Infrastructure

A very big and high tech library, labs, big classrooms, coffee shops, sitting area etc are there. Hostel is overall good and spacious. Food is better than other hostels and hostel fees is decent. Clean hostels and a small shop inside the hostel as well as a hostel library is there.

    Academics

Specially in EEE department, the professors are very supportive. They have deep knowledge about the course and teach in the best way possible. The course curriculum is overall good and helpful. The semester exams are not very difficult, there are two internals per semester and an end semester exam at the end which is prescribed by the college. Pass percent is around 90%.

    Placements

From my course around 40% students gets placed. Highest package is 12 LPA and lowest is 8 LPA. Recruiting companies are Pine Labs, Musigma, Zintler, Oracle etc. Internships depends on the student there are no college internships but students get internships in companies like Zintler.

    Batch of 2024-01-01 | B.Com

    College Infrastructure

Infrastructure and hostel are pretty okay. Infrastructure in general is good. Sports ground and library are enormous. Mess is not great and can be improved but we have options to eat and try out different types of food. Labs and classrooms are at par and not excellent.

    Academics

Teachers in our college are average and not excellent. Few faculty members do try to impart knowledge to students but many are least interested in what they are teaching. Teachers here are not very highly skilled and have mostly passed out from our college.

    Placements

Placement for B.com course is above average. About 50% of students got placed. Highest salary package offered was around 8-10lakhs. The top recruiting companies are Cognizant, Shell, Accenture, etc. Microsoft and Amazon also visit campus and sometimes pick up students if they find any talent.

    Campus Life

The activities which organised by the college are completely based on the skill development of the students, those are more encouraging.

    Batch of 2027-01-01 | B.Tech Information Technology

    College Infrastructure

The campus building is very good, always clean. We have AC in all class, it is a big relief when summer coming. The computer lab is new, and the computers is fast, no lagging when I am doing my practicals. Wi-Fi signal strong everywhere, I can download materials fast fast without problem. The library is very big and quiet, a good place to study, but the chairs is old sometimes. Generally, all the facilities make my life easy here.

    Academics

Academics standard is very high here, really. The IT department staffs really supportive, they teach very clear and are always ready to solve doubts. I am studying pre final year, and the subjects is tough, but they guides us good. Joining the House of Programming Expertise (HOPE) was the best decision I make. HOPE really helps me a lot to develop the programming skills, DSA, etc. This extra help is very needed for IT students to get ahead.

    Placements

Placements is the main reason I choose this college. I believe that these skills from HOPE will help during my on-campus Placements definitely. Placement training is start very early, from third year itself, which is very useful. Many big companies, the top ones, they come for recruitment. Our seniors got very high package, and that gives me confidence very much.

    Campus Life

Campus life is very busy and fun. We have big college fests and many technical events happening always. I spend most time with my friends in the canteen, the food is actually good there, best spot for evening chai.

    College Infrastructure

The infra here is totes main character energy, no cap. Everything is new and the campus has this whole vibe you know. Ikr, the charging points in the common area is always full, but the Wi-Fi? It's like fire, never slows down when I'm streaming tutorial videos. Our IT department block has the best drip and the labs are low key amazing because they updated all the PCs. The halls are comfy, so the classes is never a struggle. 10/10 for the aesthetics.

    Academics

The faculty is low key amazing. They don't just teach from slides, they gets it, they understand the modern tech. The IT department staffs really supportive, like, if you need help at 9 PM they respond on email quickly. I am pre final year and this year is giving knowledge. Joining the House of Programming Expertise (HOPE) was the real cheat code, we are learning DSA and coding skills that's actually relevant

    Placements

Everyone is getting placed, it's kinda crazy. The placement cell is on top of their game, like, they are slaying the company list every year. I'm pre final year, and because I'm in HOPE, I already feel less stress about the on-campus Placements definitely. My seniors got massive bag, so I know my future set.

    Batch of 2027-01-01 | B.Tech Information Technology

    College Infrastructure

The buildings and facilities aren't half bad on the surface. We've got decent labs with some updated equipment for core engineering subjects, and the library has a solid collection of books and online resources that I use a lot for projects. The hostels are clean enough, and there's Wi-Fi that mostly works in common areas. But man, it really needs improvement.

    Academics

Academically, it's a mixed bag, but leaning towards disappointing. The syllabus is standard for engineering, covering all the basics like circuits, programming, and mechanics, and some profs are genuinely passionate—they'll go the extra mile with doubt-clearing sessions after class. I've learned a ton from those. But overall, it's not up to the level it should be. A lot of lectures feel rushed or outdated

    Placements

Placements aren't terrible, which is a relief in this economy. Last year, a bunch of my seniors landed jobs at mid-tier IT firms like Infosys and TCS, with packages around 4-6 LPA, and even some core companies for mechanical and civil branches. The placement cell does organize drives and resume workshops, which helped me prep for internships. But there are some issues that grind my gears.

    Campus Life

Campus life? Ugh, it's too bad, straight up. The rules they enforce are the worst—strict curfews at 8 PM for hostels, no visitors without endless paperwork, and zero tolerance for even small fests without admin approval. It feels like a prison sometimes; I remember trying to organize a simple coding hackathon, and they shut it down over "noise concerns.

    College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is absolutely fantastic, and the facilities that the college provides are also top-notch. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and the Wi-Fi facility is also brilliant. The facilities provided at hostels were also good, and the mess food quality was not so bad.

    Academics

The faculty was very supportive, and if you're a dedicated student, then of course, teachers will always help you throughout your journey. The curriculum is relevant; you just have to trust the faculty and their teaching. At Acharya, you'll see the curriculum is more skill-oriented.

    Placements

Around 78% of students in my batch got placed according to their skills. The average package of that year was around 8.5 LPA, and the highest package was 16.2 LPA. Some of the top recruiters of that year were Airtel, Flipkart, Microsoft, Amazon, and eBay etc.

    College Infrastructure

The worst infrastructure, not good classrooms; they don't have good facilities in labs; restrictions on sitting anywhere; faculty are not very friendly and helpful in nature; they don't have wi-fi facilities on campus; there is only one canteen and it is very small.

    Academics

Teachers don't have very much knowledge about their subject; they give too many assignments. There is no attendance issue in CSE and ISE but in other branches there is a very high attendance issue. Some teachers are very supportive and some are not. The syllabus is very old.

    Placements

The placement percentage is average, like 70 to 80%. Still, many students go for off-campus placement and many of them end up getting an even better package. I'm not too sure about the current highest package but a guy from 7th semester got a 13 LPA offer, and I heard someone from ETE also got an 18 LPA offer. So the college is good as long as you are good; ultimately, it all depends on you.

    College Infrastructure

Hostel infrastructure is okay for students who are coming from international countries they have a separate hostel but students who are from India. They have a lot of hostels the food is also better compared to many other hostels. Wi-Fi facilities are available but not up to the mark classrooms are very good for the first years, classrooms are okay. Library is also very good, when it comes to sports BMS College of Engineering participates mainly in good positions in sports like it offers everything for the student's need for physical activity and supports everyone.

    Academics

Teachers are very well-qualified in BMS College of Engineering. Many of them are doctorates. They clear all the doubts we have, even after the class hours and they make students industry-ready from the second year itself. Students mostly adjust to the college environment and start preparing for interviews from the second year. Semester exams of engineering colleges are moderate compared but are more application based we have to understand everything and should be able to apply them in application based.

    Placements

Mostly 75% of students get placed here. If we speak about the lowest package, it is around 4-5 LPA, and the average is around 9-10 LPA. The highest package during the COVID was low, but now, it is 54 LPA in the recent placements. Top roles are Management, Senior Developer, Frontend and Backend Developer, and other major roles for highly skilled students.

Batch of 2016-01-01 | BE Chemical Engineering

    College Infrastructure

The college has really good infrastructure. Big campus with three floors buildings, each block has labs and classrooms well equipped. There are water coolers on every floor, and the whole place is huge to walk around. For chemical engineering, labs have basic equipments like reactors and distillation units, but some old machines need update. its clean and green area, feels nice to study here. Not perfect but better than other local colleges

    Academics

Academics in chemical engineering is decent. Teachers are mostly PhD holders and experienced, they teach theory well but practicals are less. Syllabus covers chemical processes, enviornment and energy topics good. Some profs are strict, others friendly. We get projects on distillation and heat transfer, helps a bit. But more hands on training needed. Its okay for basics, if you work hard you learn. Not top class but valueable for district level.

    Placements

Placements are average, not great. For chemical eng, about 60-70 percent students get job offers from companies like TCS, Wipro and some local firms. Highest package around 5.5 lakhs per year. Training sessions happen but not enough for core chemical jobs. Many go for IT roles. If you have good skills, you place, else struggle. Better than nothing but expect to hunt jobs outside.

    Campus Life

Campus life is fun and lively. Big ground for sports, cricket and volleyball common. Events like tech fests and cultural days happen twice year, chemical dept has its own seminars. Hostel food okay, rooms shared but clean. Friends from diff branches, late night studies and canteen chats. Girls safe, ragging low. Feels like family, miss it after grad. Academics

MTech chemical has mixed faculty, some profs great, others just read slides. Labs are solid for research, projects teach a lot. Need more practical classes tho. Teachers help if you ask, but course load heavy sometimes, need better planning.

Campus is big and green, hostels are clean but some buildings feel old. Its okay for studies but could use more modern updates.

    Academics

Professors here know their stuff and guide well on research topics like process engineering. Classes are not too heavy since its PhD, more focus on projects and papers. We get chance to attend conferences too. Sometimes schedule changes suddenly but academics are solid for chemical eng.

    Placements

For PhD grads, most get jobs quick in research or teaching. Average pay around 60k per month, highest i heard was 1 lakh. Companies like IOCL and ONGC come for chemical experts. Not as flashy as UG but good for career in industry or academia.
