The Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences (GGITS), is located in the city of Jabalpur, which lies in the state of Madhya Pradesh (MP), right at the heart of India. Jabalpur is a city Famous for its marble- bearing rocks. The GGITS is also known as the Gyan Ganga College. This college was established in the year 2003. Its campus is spread over a total of ten acres of land on the banks of the beautiful Narmada river, which is the heartbeat of this state. The GGITS is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), based out of Bhopal, the state capital. This university was earlier known as the Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTU).

The Jabalpur- based Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences has also been accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation). The technical courses here have been ratified by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The college is also a prominent member of the NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies). The GGITS belongs to a select list of colleges in India, which have been ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certified. Courses are available here at the GGITS, at both the UG as well as PG levels.
At the undergrad level, the B.E. programmes are available for the engineering areas of- Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication and for Electrical & Electronics. At the master’s level, the courses get more technical. So, the M. Tech programmes are available for the areas of- Software Systems, Structural Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Energy, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Machine Design, Advance Production System, Communication Systems and in Power Systems & Automation. The last of these, is only available here on a part- time mode. This is specifically suited to working professionals, seeking a skill upgrade. Such a course may be taken up by both the enrolled students, as well as by the external ones.
In addition, the Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences has the option of both an MBA, and an MCA programme. The entire academics at the GGITS is run by a cohort of ten departments, each with expertise in its own area. Seven of these are for the areas in which the B.E. programme may be taken up. There are also the departments for both the MCA and the MBA courses. The tenth one of them is the Department of Applied Sciences. This one takes care of the fundamental sciences involving physics, chemistry and mathematics. This college has also always believed in providing benefits to the broader society. The students here have likewise been instilled with such value. And that is why the students here have been active participants in government schemes such as the NCC (National Cadet Corps).
The Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences in Madhya Pradesh has also tied up with several noted organizations to propel ahead the college’s industry interface. Academia- industry connect is one of the key tenets, the GGITS has always strived to work on. For this purpose, it has inked up several MOUs with leading corporates. The Department of IT works closely with tech firm Zensar which has set up its own Centre of Excellence on campus. Zensar helps the department curate its curriculum based around real- world challenges, to make it more industry- friendly. Likewise, American tech giant IBM, took has set up its own Centre of Excellence here.
A peer of IBM, Cisco too has set up its own Centre of Excellence at the GGITS. Microsoft has set up an Innovation Centre here. Oracle has teamed up with the human resources department on campus, to work towards its workforce development. Indian tech giant HCL has established a K2 centre in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences is a facilitating partner, in this initiative. The college also hosts the local chapter for Pearson’s VUE for various forms of online testing. The EMC2’s Centre of Excellence is a part of the Academic Alliance it has stitched up.
To top it all, the GGITS is a remote learning centre for the IIT Bombay. Research also plays a key role in the development of the students and faculty members alike, here at the Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences. For this, the college is a signatory to the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). National- level seminars and conferences have also been held on campus.
