Lifestyle medicine is the use of scientific-proof lifestyle treatment interventions to prevent, treat, and, in some cases, reverse the all-too-common lifestyle-related chronic disease. This approach to healthcare improves the quality of future healthcare. This course will investigate oxidative stress, the microbiome, and epigenetics as root causes of chronic disease, in addition to environmental factors. We'll also go over exercise, sleep, and stress management basics.
Students will learn about lifestyle medicine-based treatments for chronic diseases such as Hypertension, diabetes/obesity, liver disease, kidney disease, Alzheimer's disease, and breast cancer are examples of chronic diseases. This certification allows the practitioner to apply evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine principles, and it also allows providers (NPs, PAs, and doctors) to study for the board exam (ABLM). Participants will get an option to enroll either in the free audit track that offers limited access or they can choose to upgrade to the paid version which is the verified track.
