M.Sc Mathematics at CUSB Offline Course

This is a two-year full-time post graduate degree course of Central University of South Bihar, Patna

The two year (four semesters) Post Graduate programme aimed to train the student in all the basic fields of Mathematics so as to develop in him skill for creative thinking, understanding fundamental concepts of the subject, problem solving and for achieving professional competence in Mathematics. The courses have been designed in such a way that the student will be able to learn the subject in a systematic and methodical manner under the able guidance of the faculty and general environment of the university. There are numerous avenues available tothe student after the successful completion of the course. With the wide spectrum of elective courses in the 3rd and 4th semesters a student can opt for a career in research/teaching/industry. The programme has following features:

• A balanced blend of foundational, core and specialized courses.
• Ample scope for enhanced interactive teaching in view of the relatively small student teacher ratio.
• Extensive choice of elective enabling the student to specialize into various existing and emerging streams of Pure and Applied Mathematics.
• Option to choose some of the open elective courses offered by sister departments such as Statistics and Computer Science.
