Yes there is a category wise reservation in CMI also.

For admission to all the courses of the Institute, CMI follows a mechanism in order to ensure reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Physically Challenged (PC) categories (collectively referred as Reserved categories) as per the policy of the Government of India (GoI).

However the number/ percentage of seats reserved for different categories is not disclosed by the Institute.

For more information regarding the same, kindly visit the following link: https://www.cmi.ac.in//admissions/reservation-policy.php

CMI conducts an entrance exam every year in the month of May (this time it is postponed to september) for the admission in its various programmes.

Question paper is divided into two parts, namely Part A and Part B:

  • Part A consists of 10 Questions where a student is required to write only the answer and not the complete solution.
  • Part B consists of 6 Questions where one has to write the complete solutions of the questions.

Also, Part B is graded only if a student scores a particular minimum marks (as decided by CMI) in Part A.

CMI does not disclose its cutoff marks for the exam. Since there are two parts, you may expect around 28-30 marks cutoff for part 1 (out of 40) and around 35-40 marks for part 2 (out of 60). So, the total cutoff marks are around 60-65 out of 100 marks question paper. But the fact is they will check part 2 (Subjective questions) only if you clear the cutoff for part 1 i.e., integer type questions' part.

Generally CMI conducts its entrance exam on May 15th every year. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CMI has postponed its entrance exam on 15th Sep. I had a great experience at CMI

College Infrastructure

The campus is nice and clean. There are plenty of study areas, well-equipped labs, and dedicated spaces for sports and recreation, making it a balanced space for academics and extracurricular activities. Although the wifi is bad in a lot of places.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is well set up and maintained. The management does a good job at taking feedback from students about the facilities and takes appropriate measures when necessary. The classrooms are smart board enabled and the internet connectivity is good too. Food tastes average but it is clean.

Interesting ongoing journey at CMI
