The Bachelor of Arts (BA) Program is a three year degree program offered by the University with a view to impart in-depth knowledge and broad understanding of Humanities. The BA program focuses on training the students in the areas of Economics, English, Public Administration and Sociology. This course aims to prepare the students in the skills required of a Playwright, Administration Officers, Journalists, Orator, and Creative Writer; and equips them to pursue MA degree program in due course. For the award of degree BA students will have to successfully complete a total of 24 subjects as shown in the program structure. Further for BA (Hons) degree, student will have to choose one subject from Economics, English, Public Administration, Sociology and complete 4 more courses shown as Honors courses in that chosen subject to complete a total of 28 subjects.

Program Structure

The BA program is offered with main courses as English, Economics, Public Administration and Sociology. The students can choose any combination of three subjects from English, Economics, Public Administration and Sociology in their program of study for BA.

Compulsory Foundation Courses

Four courses (General Hindi, General English-I, General English-II and Environmental Science) are compulsory in semester-I, II, III and IV respectively.

Elective Foundation Course

There are elective courses (Computer Application-I, Computer Application-II, Personality Development, Soft Skills etc). Out these two courses must be taken by the students in Semesters V and VI respectively.

Core Courses

There are four courses set in the group English, Economics, Public Administration and Sociology. Out of this, three courses shall be chosen as compulsory core courses. Each core course has one paper in Semester I, II, III and IV respectively.

Electives

The student has to choose three elective courses in the semester V and VI respectively out of a pool of elective courses prescribed by the University.

Eligibility Criteria

Pass in Class XII with 40% and above aggregate marks (any discipline).
Class XII students awaiting final examinations results are also eligible.

Final year students who have not received the original certificates from the Board / University by August 01, 2026 will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination and meeting the minimum requirements as indicated above. The registration of the candidates not meeting the criteria by September 14, 2026 will be cancelled. In such cases, admission fee will be forfeited and only 50% of the semester fee will be refunded after notifying the cancellation of the seat by the University.

For the purpose of determining eligibility, based on aggregate percentage of marks for the respective program, the procedure used by the respective Board / University in award of the Certificate / Degree will only be taken into consideration. All applicants should have completed a minimum of 12 years of formal education for UG programs and minimum 15 years of formal education for PG programs by August 01, 2026. Applicants who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission to the MBA Program.

Admission Details

The selection of applicants for all programs is made through application and interview. While evaluating applicants for admission, due weightage is given to academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes and other extra co-curricular activities.
