The Bachelor of Arts (BA) Economics is a four-year degree program offered by the University with a view to impart in-depth knowledge and a broad understanding of Humanities.
The BA program focuses on training the students in the areas of Economics, English, Public Administration, and Sociology. This course aims to prepare the students in the skills required of a Playwright, Administration Officers, Journalists, Orator, and Creative Writer; and equips them to pursue an MA degree program in due course.
For the award of degree BA, students will have to successfully complete a total of 24 subjects as shown in the program structure. Further for BA (Hons) degree, the student will have to choose one subject from Economics, English, Public Administration, Sociology and complete 4 more courses shown as Honors courses in that chosen subject to complete a total of 28 subjects.

Eligibility Criteria

Pass in Class XII with 40% and above aggregate marks (any discipline).

Final year students who have not received the original certificates from the Board / University by August 01, 2025 will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed subject to their passing the qualifying examination and meeting the minimum requirements as indicated above. The registration of the candidates not meeting the criteria by September 14, 2025 will be cancelled. In such cases, admission fee will be forfeited and only 50% of the semester fee will be refunded after notifying the cancellation of the seat by the University.

For the purpose of determining eligibility, based on aggregate percentage of marks for the respective program, the procedure used by the respective Board / University in award of the Certificate / Degree will only be taken into consideration. All applicants should have completed a minimum of 12 years of formal education for UG programs and minimum 15 years of formal education for PG programs by August 01, 2025. Applicants who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission to the MBA Program.

Admission Details

The selection of applicants for all programs is made through application and interview. While evaluating applicants for admission, due weightage is given to academic distinction, awards in sports/cultural events, debates, quizzes, and other extra co-curricular activities.
