M.Tech. (AI & ML) is a two year degree program in Artificial Intelligence at Indian Institute of Information Technology Sri City, Chittoor offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Duration of the Programme:

a) The programme shall need two years and the minimum duration required for the completion shall be four semesters.

b) The course work has to be completed in two semesters and the project work can be taken up in the following two semesters.

c) It is recommended for M.Tech students to take up the projects in industry as the requirement of degree.

Credit Requirement:

a) An M.Tech.(AI & ML) student has to complete a total of 64 credits, including 20, 20, 12 and 12 credits in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th semesters, respectively.

b) Out of 64 credits, 40 credits are allocated to the course work that has to be completed in the first year and the remaining 24 credits of the project work in the second year.

Course Work:

a) The student will have to complete 40 credits (i.e., 10 courses with 4 credits each) in 1st year with 20 credits in the 1st semester and 20 credits in the 2nd semester. The number of core and elective courses need to be completed are 7 and 3, respectively.

b) The student has to take the three electives in the 2nd sem from the pool of elective courses offered by the institute under AI & ML specialization from time to time.

c) In order to pass a course, the student has to secure at least 5 GPA in that course.

Eligibility Criteria

GATE Category

GATE candidates with B.Tech./B.E. in CSE/ECE/equivalent branches are eligible to apply for admission through Centralized Counselling for MTech (CCMT) portal.
In the GATE category, candidates should have a valid GATE score.
In the GATE category, candidates have to follow the procedures of CCMT for the admission.
GATE category candidates have to choose IIIT Sri City in CCMT portal in order to get admission at IIIT Sri City.
The eligibility criteria for the GATE candidates will be governed by the CCMT rules.

Non-GATE Category

Non-GATE candidates with B.Tech./B.E. in CSE/ECE/equivalent branches are eligible to apply for admission through the institute admission process.
In the qualifying degree, the candidates should have passed and secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC, whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates. The above mentioned CGPA/Percentage should be awarded by a recognized University/Institute.
Only the primary mode of evaluation (CGPA or percentage) as mentioned in the qualifying degree certificate/mark sheet shall be considered while verifying eligibility.
Conversion from CGPA to percentage or vice versa given by individual Institute/university will not be allowed.
In case, the result of the qualifying degree is awaited, provisional admission is permitted to a candidate subject to meeting above minimum qualifying degree requirements latest by September 15, 2021. In these cases, all exams should have been completed by July 30,. A certificate from the head of the current institute to that effect should be submitted during document verification

Admission Details

The M.Tech.selection process is described below. The admission of GATE qualified candidates having valid GATE score is done through CCMT. However, the admission to Non-GATE students is done based on the institute admission process.

GATE candidates through Centralized Counselling for MTech (CCMT)

In the GATE category, candidates should have a valid GATE score.
GATE category candidates have to choose IIIT Sri City in CCMT portal in order to get admission at IIIT Sri City.
Candidates have to follow the procedures of CCMT for the admission.
The eligibility criteria for the GATE candidates will be governed by the CCMT rules.

Non-GATE with an undergraduate degree from CFTI institutes

The CFTI applicants will be screened on the basis of their previous academic records and must have at least 8.0 CGPA and demonstrated potential by means of excellence through projects and activities.
The screened candidates have to appear for a Coding Test and an Interview at IIIT Sri City, Chittoor.

Non-GATE General candidates (Non CFTI or CFTI with < 8.0 CGPA)

The applicants will be screened on the basis of their previous academic records.
The screened candidates have to appear for a written exam at IIIT Sri City, Chittoor. The syllabus of the test is similar to GATE. The outcome of the test will be used to do the second screening.
Those who pass for the second screening have to appear for a Coding Test and an Interview at IIIT Sri City, Chittoor.
