Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU), Amarkantak was established on July 2008 by an Act of the Parliament of India and is fully funded by the Central Government. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). IGNTU courses include undergraduate (BA, B.Sc, B.Voc, B.Com, B.Ed, BBA, BCA, B.Pharm, D.Pharm) and postgraduate (MA, M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MCA) programmes in various areas.

IGNTU is located at Podki, Madhya Pradesh. Pendra Road Railway Station is 24.3 km away and Amarkantak Bus Stand is 16.4 km away from the university. Bilaspur Airport is 138 km away and it will take around 3 hours 29 minutes to reach the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak. Students can take a cab or a bus to reach the university. IGNTU is well connected with all modes of transportation.

Clubs, Committees and Societies:

• Cultural Club: This is the cultural club of CUG that provides a platform for the students who are interested in dancing, music, painting, sketching, etc. The members of this club organises various activities where interested students can participate.
• National Service Scheme: The aim of NSS is to works towards the upliftment of society. NSS gives various training which helps the students to be good leaders and also helps in improving their communication skills.
• NCC- National Cadet Corps is the full form of NCC. This club helps in developing qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, and secular outlook.
• Sports Club: This Club also conducts several substantial events on marathons, triathlons, environment awareness drive and conferences that inspire the students to take up a sport and outdoor activities. The Club also conducts regular treks, runs, cycling events, swimming events and camping on a regular basis.
