Green Campus, Good Facility, Supportive vibe
Academics
The academic environment at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, is encouraging and student-focused. I am pursuing my BCA here, and my experience so far has been very positive. The faculty members are highly qualified, with most professors holding PhDs from reputed universities. They are not only knowledgeable but also motivating — especially for students who aim to build a career in fields like software development. Their constant guidance and encouragement help us stay focused on our goals.
Classes are conducted regularly and on schedule, which ensures consistent learning throughout the semester. The syllabus is well-structured and updated with relevant topics that match current industry requirements. Examinations and internal assessments are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
While research and practical exposure could be further strengthened, the university actively informs students about workshops, seminars, and external opportunities to enhance their skills and participation. Overall, the academic experience at IGNTU creates a strong foundation for students to grow both academically and professionally.
College Infra
Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, located in the beautiful hills of Amarkantak, has a peaceful and green environment that makes the campus feel refreshing and close to nature. The infrastructure of the university is overall good. The classrooms are well-maintained and equipped with smart boards, which makes the learning experience better. The library is one of the best parts of the campus — it’s spacious, has a good collection of books, and offers Wi-Fi facilities for students.
The campus itself is quite large and always kept clean, giving it a pleasant and organized look. However, there are still a few areas that need improvement. The departmental buildings currently don’t have Wi-Fi, which sometimes creates inconvenience for students. The boys’ hostel also lacks Wi-Fi and the food served there could be better in both quality and variety.
Overall, IGNTU provides a calm and natural learning atmosphere with strong academic infrastructure, but better hostel and connectivity facilities would make the student experience much more comfortable.
Campus Life
The campus life at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, is peaceful and refreshing. Surrounded by hills and greenery, the environment feels calm and close to nature — a perfect setting for focused learning. The campus is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, giving students a sense of openness and freedom. Various events, workshops, and cultural programs are organized regularly, which keep the campus active and engaging. Students get opportunities to interact with peers from diverse backgrounds, which builds a strong sense of community.
Hostel life is decent but could be better. The boys’ hostel lacks Wi-Fi, and the food quality is average, which sometimes affects the overall comfort level. Apart from that, safety, cleanliness, and accessibility across campus are well taken care of.
Best Feature:
The green and peaceful environment — studying in such a natural, pollution-free atmosphere truly enhances focus and mental well-being.
Worst Feature:
The hostel facilities, especially Wi-Fi and food quality, need improvement to match the rest of the campus standards.
Placements
The university maintains a dedicated Placement Cell that organises career counselling, soft‐skill workshops, and mock interviews to prepare students. However, when it comes to actual campus placements, the situation is still moderate. For undergraduate programs in recent years, placement percentages reported are in the ballpark of ~40-50%, with median salary figures around ₹2.2 LPA to ₹3 LPA in some streams. What this means: you cannot rely solely on the college to open high-end placements for you. Especially for your BCA aiming to become a software developer, you’ll still need to proactively build skills, do projects, and perhaps seek off‐campus/internship experiences. On the plus side, the infrastructural support and the placement cell’s training help give you a foundation—but the high salary big company pipeline appears somewhat limited at this stage.
Value For Money
Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, truly stands out when it comes to value for money. With a semester fee of only ₹2100, the university offers quality education at an exceptionally affordable cost. The academic environment, qualified faculty, and overall campus infrastructure make this one of the best low-cost higher education options in the region.
The classrooms are well-maintained and equipped with smart boards, and the library is spacious with a wide range of books and Wi-Fi access. The campus is large, green, and clean, providing a peaceful environment for study. For such minimal fees, students get access to facilities that are usually available only in higher-fee institutions.
That said, hostel Wi-Fi and placement opportunities still need improvement. Yet, for students who are focused and willing to put in extra effort—through internships, workshops, and self-learning—the return on investment here is excellent.

Persuing MBA here just because the fees is less than other central universities and the teaching staff is also supportive. But it lacks in placement opportunities, there is not much opportunities for placements.
College Infra
The infrastructure of the university is well maintained and great educational environment. It comprises of all the facilities in it as like seperate and large classrooms, labs, hostels are also average. But yes there is not much options for food.

Placement cell is not up to date and is not much active. None of the staff is willing or focusing for the placement of students. There is only the placement for some of the departments and just upto 2 LPA.

Hello,
To take admission to the various courses offered by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak candidates have to first enrol on the website of the university. After the successful registration, they have to select the programme they wish to pursue from the IGNTU and then generate a pre-enrolment copy for each programme they apply. The candidates have to appear for the university level counselling process and they will make a move to the final stage of the admission process that comprises document verification and fee payment. The news regarding the counselling will be declared in the official website for the latest information. The officials have not yet declared the dates.
