Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
100% selection. The average, which is shown on the website is too less as it doesn't consider PPOs and foreign placements. Simply put, it doesn't consider placements of many excellent students. So, after considering all these factors, the average package will become more than 20 lakhs per annum. Infrastructure is okay. Food is good as compared to any other college like BITS, IITs etc. Sports infrastructure is okay but there is a lot of scope for improvement. All the buildings are equipped with Wi-Fi. Student hostel has LAN ports for each student. There is a mini hospital (Arogya) on the IIIT campus. The faculty is okay, but learning in IIIT is not done in the classroom but the assignments teach you. There is a great TA culture which helps a lot and is the primary reason for the coding culture of IIIT. Even in the second Semester, we are taught courses like data structure, which is usually a year ahead. The courses are very carefully planned.

Batch of 2022 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
Culture, Environment, Coding. Great research opportunities in all fields from Software Engineering to Computer Vision. Cons Lack of infrastructure ( although improving rapidly ) . Attendance policy is a pain if you are a night person. Physical education at 6:30 AM for freshers for one year. Advice to Management Need better infrastructure and flexible attendance policy. Twenty words are required to complete this section so I might as well right something here.

Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
Placements : Placements for our senior batches are excellent and the placement is 100% for B.Tech CSE , ECE, M.Tech CSE/CSIS/VLSI ( Source : IIIT-H website) . The Highest , lowest and average salary ( excluding off-shore placements) was 35 LPA ,6.25 LPA ,18.53 LPA respectively in 2016 . Companies visiting the campus include Google, facebook, microsoft, directi , IBM and many other top-notch companies. Almost all roles offered are technical roles . For interns, companies visiting the campus are TowerResearch, Directi, Intuit, Microsoft, Samsung,, Indeed and many apply for off-campus interns as well at Google, Facebook, and get them too. Every year, we have atleast 3-4 people going to Google MTV, many to Google India and so on. Overall, I would say that for placements and Interns, the Institute is a top-notch one although you need to be very good at coding to crack those companies' interviews Infrastructure : IIIT-H is unique in the sense that we do not have Departments unlike other Institutes but instead have Research labs . Campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled except for the classrooms . We have a well equipped library which is proportional to the number of students studying hereon campus (around 2000) . Sports and Games are encouraged but do not have as many participants as other institutes and this is primarily due to less number of students in the campus. Quality of Labs and Classrooms is excellent. Food available in the mess is very good when compared with other institutes (Seriously!) .Medical Facilities are not as good as some IIT s , but that may be due to less no of students Hostel Rooms are double rooms until second year and after that as per availability single rooms are alloted. We do not have our own auditorium as of now which is required for some events like convocation , hence the convocation is conducted outside the institute . No, I didn't face any major issues related to infrastructure. Obviously, there is scope for improvement and it is going on, one major concern is that the institute is not funded by any State/Central Government and is self-run. Faculty : All the faculties are excellent, and highly qualified provided you pay attention to what is taught. Teaching Methods are excellent here and reflect in the students' knowledge . The student to faculty ratio differs sometimes being 15:1 to sometimes 250:1 (for those courses which almost all students of a batch take). Industry exposure is provided as well and course curriculum is quite useful and students learn things quite early as compared to other institutes because Computer Science Topics are taught right from the beginning of the first semester and this gives a big lead to the students. Other Details : Well, it may seem that most of the portion written is positive towards the institute. However, the place is not so well for those students who do not love Computer Science and because non-technical or management companies do not come here much for internships or for placements unlike IIT s . The programming and open source contribution culture is awesome here and IIIT-H has the highest number of GSOCers every year and also it's the only institute in the country to send a team to the ICPC World Finals for 13 years continuously . But remember that this all is for those interested in Computer Science and I feel that other people may feel left out. Plus we have PT for the first 2 semesters and we do not have a Saturday Holiday as in most of the Indian Colleges. You may not receive exposure in Sports and related fields as like IIT s .Also, we have only 1 College Fest which is not-so-high budget unlike IITs. The club culture has started revival but the major roadblock is the less number of on-campus students which affects participation. Also, since there is no reservation policy and admission is purely based on merit, you are rest assured of good peers unlike IIT s ( This is also one reason why I feel the placements to be 100% ) So, these are the pros and cons.

Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
The Institute might not span large like IIT's or NIT's, but still, the campus is quite decent (contains humans who spend a productive amount of time thinking about stuff). It has nice classes, although AC's would have been an advantage. Instead of departments, there are research centers which dedicate most of their time to come up with novel ideas (systems) to improve the state of the art technological systems. Although the Institute discourages industrial internships (as it wants to encourage students to pursue research), it still attracts most of the big giants in the tech industry. This is mainly because of the culture that prevails here. Students are deep into programming. This college actually provides one the opportunity to see the best of both worlds i.e the corporate as well as the research (academia) field. There are no restrictions on the timings when a student can leave and enter the college, so that is an added advantage. Apart from this, there are loads of cultural activities which one could participate it. The college also has its own fest named 'Felicity'. The fest attracts quite a number of people from outside the campus as well. The college has its own areas for sports. Also, it is attached to the Gachibowli stadium, so one could enroll themselves there as well (for athletic enthusiasts). The student crowd in college is commendable. Not only will people find tech geeks, but also students whose interest lie in the areas of humanities, pure sciences, linguistics etc. Being here would mean competing with some of the brightest minds in the country. Be it the ACM ICPC or the Google Summer of Code, this college has shown the best performance compared to all other colleges in India. To brag a bit more, it has been performing the best in the world at the Google Summer of Code. The hostels have adequate facilities. Common amenities like water, electricity is present 24x7. There are four different messes which serve different menus, and students have the option to eat wherever they want with prior registration for that particular day. Apart from this, there are student bodies which take care of the needs of the students and have healthy discussions with the faculty, if at all any changes or improvements are required. Life here is quite interesting. In terms of studies, or in terms of fun, one can have both here and still create a fruitful life for oneself in the future.
